  • Publication number: 20210311983
Abstract: A method and apparatus to browse electronic media stored over a network of remote storage devices, or any other local or remote storage devices, including CD/DVD ROM, desktop computers, servers, and disk drives by categories, without repeated, unwanted and unneeded intermediary clicking and page downloads. Pre-browsing of the category structure is provided, via rolling the cursor from category to category, and level to level to view each category's next-level sub-categories, without having to click on any one category, nor download any web-pages linked to any category, until the viewer/browser is satisfied with the examination of the category structure and category titles, and ready to select and explore the media page linked to a particular category.

  • Patent number: 10522256
Abstract: A nuclear reactor chamber comprises an inlet portion. The chamber is a part of a nuclear power plant. At least one container contains liquid nitrogen and cold nitrogen vapor and includes an outlet portion. At least one thermally activated release mechanism is respectively connected between one of the at least one container and the inlet portion. Each thermally activated release mechanism is configured to release the liquid nitrogen from a connected container into the inlet portion when a predetermined safety threshold temperature is reached, so that the released liquid nitrogen produces an expanding volume of cold nitrogen vapor within the nuclear reactor chamber.

  • Patent number: 10282779
Abstract: A system and method for an interactive, computer-assisted on-line auction wherein at least one array of images of objects for auction are scrolled on a display device so that a viewer can view the objects, obtain detailed information regarding objects of interest an submit bids on those objects the viewer desires to purchase. The objects in the array can be sorted into rows and columns by criteria such as manufacturer, type of good, or time until which bids are accepted. The system can include an array for objects that can currently be bid upon and another array for objects that can be bid upon at a future time. Certain objects of interest to a viewer can be selectively rotated for three-dimensional viewing by clicking on an appropriate button.

  • Patent number: 9881705
Abstract: A system for fighting a fire includes a plurality of containers containing liquid nitrogen. Thermally activated release mechanisms are each connected to one of the containers. Each thermally activated release mechanism is configured to release the liquid nitrogen from a connected container when a predetermined safety threshold temperature is reached, so that the released liquid nitrogen produces an expanding volume of cold nitrogen vapor. A central storage container stores liquid nitrogen. The central storage container is connected to each of the plurality of containers. A sensor system activates refilling of a respective container with liquid nitrogen from the central storage container when the amount of liquid nitrogen in the respective container is below a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20170212656
Abstract: An automatic scrolling mechanism converts an information repository into media that can actively present and “push” information to the users/viewers while retaining existing “pull” and interactivity functions. Automatic scrolling can be controlled by placing a cursor on control icons, such as boxes, lines, and arrow clusters. While the cursor is on an icon, automatic scrolling brings into view content that extends beyond the field of view. The scrolled content is moved into the field of view of the display window in a predetermined direction designated by the icon. Sub-windows are also designed to be independently and automatically scrolled or floated with respect the main window. Links created in an information repository may be automatically activated to retrieve the linked information, and to automatically present and scroll the information. As the content is automatically scrolled, the repository is pushed and the user is allured to further navigate through the repository.

  • Publication number: 20170018019
Abstract: The present invention is a system for conducting commercial transactions over the Internet, whereby a shopper can simultaneously search for a plurality of items on at least one website with a single search command. The shopper can selectively specify the items of interest to be searched and can also specify and/or exclude websites to be searched. The system also searches a selectively alterable set of default website(s) and intelligently recommended website(s). Under one search command, the system simultaneously searches for all of the items on any combination of the following: site(s) specified by the user, a default website, an alterable set of default or intelligently recommended website(s). Information regarding the items retrieved as a result of the search is compiled under an alterable set of criteria, and displayed for viewing by the shopper. The shopper can simultaneously purchase selected ones of said items with one order command.

  • Patent number: 8438487
Abstract: Method and apparatus facilitate browsing of web pages or other electronic content stored over a network of remote and/or local storage devices. Browsing is performed without repeated intermediary clicking and page downloads. Pre-browsing of the category structure is provided via rolling the cursor from category to category, and level to level, to view each category's sub-categories, without clicking on a category or downloading web-page(s) linked to the category. When the user selects the content linked to a particular category, the user invokes the link-token corresponding to the content to retrieve the content. A dynamic tracking-string with an embedded one-click nested/cascading category browsing apparatus facilitates returning and/or changing path during browsing and examination of electronic media, and allows the user to review more than one path along the category structure while the browser is at a page linked to any category at any level.
