Patent number: 10117201Abstract: A method for multi-band operation by a first transmit/receive unit (TRU) is disclosed. The method may comprise monitoring a plurality of frequency bands including a first band and a second band. A first beacon may be received on the first band and a determination may be made, based on the received first beacon, of a first beacon period start time. The first beacon period start time may correspond to beacons transmitted by the second TRU. A second beacon period start time may be determined, based on the received first beacon, wherein the second beacon period start time corresponds to a beacon for transmission by the first TRU. A beacon signal may be transmitted in a second band, by the first TRU, wherein the beacon signal is timing aligned with beacon signals of the second TRU. The first band and the second band may be adjacent radio bands.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2017Date of Patent: October 30, 2018Assignee: InterDigital Technology CorporationInventors: Juan Carlos Zuniga, Sudheer A. Publication number: 20170230288Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for confirming the delivery of a data packet in a mesh network by sending an acknowledgement (ACK) to an ingress mesh point (IMP). A mesh network comprises a plurality of mesh points that are wirelessly linked together. A data packet sent by a station (STA) is received by an IMP. A MAC frame is generated for transmission of the data packet and the frame is forwarded to an egress mesh point (EMP) in order to provide a service by the mesh network. The MAC frame includes a field comprising an IMP address and an EMP address. When the EMP, (or optionally an intermediate mesh point), receives a data packet successfully, the EMP or the intermediate mesh point sends an ACK to the IMP or preceding mesh point.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2017Publication date: August 10, 2017Inventors: Catherine M. Patent number: 8804591Abstract: A method and an apparatus for a proxy mobile Internet protocol (PMIP) supporting a dedicated multicast local mobility anchor (LMA) and mobile access gateway (MAG) is provided. The LMA assigns an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) that processes the IP address and sends a router solicitation message to a serving MAG. A WTRU is disclosed to receive a first IP address that is for unicast service and a second IP address that is for multicast services. Generally, the method and apparatus proposes architecture, interfaces, and procedures to enable multicast mobility using Proxy Mobile IP. More specifically operations of aggregated PMIP tunnels for multicast services are described. Multicast mobility is enabled when mobile nodes move from one MAG to another MAG, intra-LMA, and inter-LMA. And, Multicast mobility is enabled between bidirectional network and downlink only multicast network in a hybrid network.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2010Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Guang Lu, Shamim A. Publication number: 20130331144Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for minimizing power consumption in a converged WTRU. In a preferred embodiment, power consumption is minimized by coordinating battery management of the various RATs supported by the converged WTRU. A coordinated multi-RAT battery management (CMRBM) unit is used by the converged WTRU to minimize power consumption. The CMRBM unit monitors various power and link metrics of the various RATs supported by the converged WTRU, and coordinates power states of the converged WTRU.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2013Publication date: December 12, 2013Applicant: InterDigital Technology CorporationInventors: Guang Lu, Catherine M. Patent number: 8599791Abstract: A method and apparatus are used to perform a Circuit Switched (CS) fallback in wireless communications. The Non-Access Stratum (NAS) of the apparatus determines whether to perform a CS fallback based on an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) registration status, and sends a service request indicating a request to perform the CS fallback when the WTRU is attached to a CS domain. The apparatus also includes an Access Stratum (AS) that receives the CS service request from the NAS, sends an indication of the CS service request in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message to an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN), wherein the RRC message includes CS service information, and receives a handover command in response to the CS service request.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2009Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Rajat P. Mukherjee, Mohammed Sammour, Shankar Somasundaram, Catherine M. Livet, Ulises Olvera-Hernandez
