  • Patent number: 8489968
Abstract: A method for recovering transmission errors, comprising: receiving a data packet comprising an error detection code associated to data contained in the packet, wherein the data associated to the error detection code comprises primary data and secondary data, checking the error detection code of the received packet to detect an erroneous state of the associated data, when the erroneous state is detected, determining a finite set of candidate values for the primary data and, for each values of the set: determining a marginal likelihood of the candidate value as a function of the error detection code of the received packet, determining a first correlation between the primary data of the received packet and the candidate value, and selecting a corrected value for the primary data among the set of candidate values as a function of said marginal likelihoods and said first correlations.

  • Patent number: 8295352
Abstract: A process for delivering a video stream over a bidirectional wireless channel between a video encoder and a video decoder, is provided. The video frames of the video stream are encoded by determining predictions for defined partitions of the video frames, a prediction being based on at least one reference area of a reference frame of the video stream; one motion vector associated to said reference area; and a weighting factor associated to said reference area. The difference between partition and corresponding predicted partition is done to establish a partition residual, the encoded video stream with partition residual are transmitted to the video decoder to decode predicted partition, decoded partition of the video frame being formed by combination of decoded predicted partition and corresponding partition residual. A transmission error probability of the decoded partition is fed back to the video encoder.

  • Publication number: 20110083032
Abstract: A permeable protocol layer decoder (10) for decoding a protocol data unit comprises an error detection code checking means (2) for checking an error detection code of the protocol data unit to detect an erroneous state of the control data, and a control data correction means (6) operable to determine a finite set of candidate values for the control data, to determine error detection code values associated to the candidate values of the set, to determine first correlations between the control data of the received protocol data unit and the respective candidate values, to determine second correlations between the error detection code of the received protocol data unit and error detection code values associated to the respective candidate values, and to select a corrected value of the control data among the set of candidate values as a function of said first and second correlations.

Abstract: Process for delivering a video stream over a wireless channel, wherein the video frames of the video stream are encoded by defining partitions of the video frames, said encoding being done by determining predictions for the partitions, a prediction being based on two reference areas (A1, A2) each of independent reference frames of the video stream; one motion vector associated to each reference area (A1, A2); and a weighting factor (W1, W2) for each motion vector; wherein the difference between partition and corresponding predicted partition is done in order to establish a partition residual, the encoded video stream with partition residuals are transmitted to a video decoder in order to decode predicted partition of the video stream by using the two reference areas (A1, A2), the motion vectors and weighting factor based on encoded weighting factor (W1, W2) balanced by a transmission error probability (PA1, PA2) computed for each reference area (A1, A2), decoded partition (M) of the video frame being formed b

  • Publication number: 20080247323
Abstract: A method of transmitting data packets over an air interface is disclosed. At least a first and second stream of data packets are multiplexed, wherein a multiplexed stream of data packets is generated. The multiplexed stream of data packets is processed by a forward error correction function, wherein the forward error correction function adds redundancy bits to the multiplexed stream of data packets, wherein a third stream of data packets is generated, and wherein the redundancy bits are used for an error control to be performed on the third stream of data packets. The third stream of data packets is then transmitted over the air interface.
