Abstract: The power saving method includes storing current connection information of an electronic device corresponding to an access point; disconnecting power supply to designated hardware to form a disconnection state after storing the current connection information; determining whether the disconnection state conforms to a release condition; and connecting the power supply to the designated hardware if the disconnection state conforms to the release condition. The connecting of the power supply to the designated hardware includes loading final connection information of the electronic device corresponding to the access point prior to disconnecting the power supply, and utilizing the final connection information to guide the electronic device to connect the access point.

Abstract: A terminal includes a first storage, which is kept turned on in a sleep mode, and is utilized to store a first packet transmitted with a server, a second storage which is utilized to store data required for the terminal in a wake-up mode, a central processing unit which is utilized to generated a second packet according the first packet and send the first packet to a access point in the sleep mode, and a communication unit which is connected to the access point and is utilized to transmit the second packet according to control of the central processing unit.

The modem includes a first interface interfacing with a subscriber terminal, a second interface interfacing with an Asynchronous Mode Transfer switching system, a memory device supporting various communication protocols, and a control unit processing two-way data communication between the subscriber terminal and the Asynchronous Transfer Mode switching system. The control unit further includes a mode selecting section reading a data packet received from the first interface, and a data processing section processing data. The modem and the method of processing data thereof according to the present invention provides response information of the modem through the subscriber terminal, corresponding to the application service such as embedded web or telnet having a destination address that corresponds to the modem, by using a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol familiar to general users.
