The method can include at least generating a handover request including an indication indicating a handover reason of no presence of quality of service (QoS) flow for a voice signal to the UE; receiving a handover command generated by an access and mobility management function (AMF) to transfer the UE from the 5GS to the EPS based on the handover request; transmitting the handover command to the UE for the UE to establish a connection with the EPS; and after the flow of the voice signal has terminated, re-establishing a connection with the UE to reconnect the UE to the 5GS, wherein the connection with the BS is re-established based on a target ID of the BS.

The eNB may receive, from a mobility management entity (MME), a path switch trigger message that indicates an identifier of an eRelay UE for a relay arrangement for an eRemote UE. The eNB may determine whether the eRelay UE is served by the eNB. The eNB may, if it is determined that the eRelay UE is served by the eNB, transmit a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message to the eRemote UE. The RRC connection reconfiguration message may indicate a switch from a direct communication to an indirect communication between the eRemote UE and the eNB. The indirect communication may be through the eRelay UE in accordance with the relay arrangement.

The processing circuitry may retrieve authorization information from a Unified Data Management (UDM) repository and apply a policy control function (PCF) to the authorization information and the V2X RAT configuration specified by the UE to determine whether the UE has been authorized to communicate using the indicated V2X RAT configuration. In response to determining that the UE is authorized to communicate using the indicated V2X RAT configuration, the processing circuitry may transmit V2X service authorization parameters corresponding to the indicated V2X RAT configuration to a Radio Access Network (RAN) base station servicing the UE.

To configure the UE for a DNS resolution, the processing circuitry is to encode UL data for transmission to a first EAS via a first data path. The first data path includes a first UL CL UPF and a first PSA. A NAS SM message received from an SMF node is decoded. The NAS SM message includes an EAS rediscovery indication and a list of FQDNs associated with the first EAS. A DNS resolution procedure with a DNS server is performed in response to the EAS rediscovery indication, to obtain an IP address of a second EAS. The DNS resolution procedure is based on the list of FQDNs, and a second data path to the second EAS is established based on the IP address.
