  • Publication number: 20070158525
Abstract: A reinforced pipe hinge includes first and second elongate hinge members, the first hinge member having stem and tail portions. A first reinforcement member is received within the stem portion and includes a main body portion and a pair of axially extending struts, the struts defining a channel therebetween. The second hinge member has a first end pivotally attached to the first hinge member at a pivot point located between the stem and tail portions to enable pivoting movement of the hinge device between an extended position and an articulated position. A second reinforcement member is secured to the second hinge member and has a tongue pivotally received within the channel. The first and second hinge members are in aligned coaxial relation and the tail portion engages the second hinge member when the first and second hinge members are in the extended position. A fastener releasably secures the first and second hinge members in the extended position.

  • Publication number: 20070047712
Abstract: An intercom system is provided having a plurality of intercom stations coupled to a digital network, each station transmitting intercom data onto a channel of the network. Each station receives intercom data from each other station and selects channels to be amplified and output to a speaker. Each station may listen to and talk to any other station or any selected group of stations. Processing of signals from the network is performed in each station, thereby eliminating the need for a centralized mixing and switching device. Stations may be added merely by connecting them to the network. The intercom system may be configured in a non-blocking mode or in a blocking mode.

  • Patent number: 7117045
Abstract: A neural network controller in parallel with a proportional-plus-integral (PI) feedback controller in a control system. At least one input port of the neural network for receiving an input signal representing a condition of a process is included. A first set of data is obtained that includes a plurality of output values of the neural network obtained during a training period thereof using a plurality of first inputs representing a plurality of conditions of the process. The process/plant condition signals generally define the process/plant, and may include one set-point as well as signals generated using measured systems variables/parameters. In operation, the neural network contributes to an output of the PI controller only upon detection of at least one triggering event, at which time a value of the first set of data corresponding with the condition deviation is added-in thus, contributing to the proportional-plus-integral feedback controller.
