Patent number: 10149677Abstract: A vessel access and closure device places a running suture in the wall of a blood vessel using a rotating helical suture needle that carries the suture along a helical path passing through the vessel wall, then reverses rotation to release a suture anchor attached to the distal end of the suture. A loose helical coil of suture is left behind as the helical suture needle withdraws. The device is withdrawn and replaced with a vessel dilator and an introducer sheath that opens up a larger access opening into the blood vessel and creates a pathway that passes though the helical coil of suture for introducing an interventional device into the blood vessel. After the interventional procedure is completed, the interventional device and the introducer sheath are withdrawn and the running suture is tightened and secured with a suture lock to close the access opening into the vessel.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2015Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: VasoStitch, Inc.Inventors: Amir Belson, Joelle Faulkner, Phillip Charles Burke, Eric T. Publication number: 20160143636Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing transapical access to a heart chamber for performing an intra cardiac procedure are described. The apparatus include a helical needle driver, a dilator, a straight access needle, and optionally a guidewire. After entering the heart chamber with the straight access needle, the helical needle driver is used to place a helical suture within the myocardium. After removing the needle driver, the dilator is advanced through the pre-placed helical suture, dilating both a passage and the circumscribing suture. After performing procedure, the pre-placed suture may be closed by proximally retracting an external end of the suture.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2016Publication date: May 26, 2016Inventors: Amir Belson, Phillip Charles Burke, Eric Thomas Johnson, Bauback Safa

Patent number: 8352713Abstract: A processor is operative to execute two or more instruction sets, each in a different instruction set operating mode. As each instruction is executed, debug circuit comparison the current instruction set operating mode to a target instruction set operating mode sent by a programmer, and outputs an alert or indication in they match. The alert or indication may additionally be dependent upon the instruction address following within a predetermined target address range. The alert or indication may comprise a breakpoint signal that halts execution and/or it is output as an external signal of the processor. The instruction address at which the processor detects a match in the instruction set operating modes may additionally be output. Additionally or alternatively, the alert or indication may comprise starting or stopping a trace operation, causing an exception, or any other known debugger function.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2006Date of Patent: January 8, 2013Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Kevin Charles Burke, Brian Michael Stempel, Daren Streett, Kevin Allen Sapp, Leslie Mark DeBruyne, Nabil Amir Rizk, Thomas Andrew Sartorius, Rodney Wayne Smith

Publication number: 20080016569Abstract: A security management system can log, investigate, respond, and track computer security incidents that can occur in a networked computer system. In other words, the security management system can produce a security record of information related to the tracking of suspicious computer activity or actual computer security threats, such as denial of service attacks or other similar compromises to computers or computer networks. The security record can include, but is not limited to, date and times of computer security incidents, a name for a particular security incident, a security management system user, and a potential source of the computer security incident. The security record can be designed as a running log that saves or records all activity of a computer incident source as well as the activity of the security team responding to the computer incident source.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2007Publication date: January 17, 2008Applicant: Internet Security Systems, Inc.Inventors: John Hammer, Rixin Ge, Charles Burke, Charles Hubbard

Publication number: 20070243762Abstract: A hermetic pressure connector which provides a pressure-tight, electrically conductive connection through a hole in a bulkhead. The connector includes a transverse support member having a high pressure side and an opposite low pressure side. A passage extends through the transverse support member between the opposite sides. A conductor pin having an axial portion extends through the passage. An insulating sleeve surrounds at least the axial portion of the conductor pin, thereby electrically insulating the transverse support member from the conductor pin. A molded connected body surrounds at least a central portion of the conductor pin at least at one of the high and low pressure sides to thereby mechanically support the conductor pin in the passage. The molded connector body is directly sealingly engaged with the conductor pin, the insulating sleeve and the transverse support member.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2007Publication date: October 18, 2007Applicant: Greene, Tweed of Delaware, Inc.Inventors: Charles Burke, Ronald Taylor, Steven Fraley, James Spence, Martin Tomek, Trung Nguyen

Patent number: 7269630Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for automatically switching remote shared devices in a dense server environment. A device driver in a server blade may be configured to receive a request to access a shared device from the server blade and issue a query to a service processor as to whether the requested shared device is being accessed. If the requested shared device is not being accessed by the requesting server blade, then the device driver may wait to receive a response from the service processor indicating that the requested shared device is available. Once the requested shared device is available, the service processor may connect the requested shared device with the requesting server blade. The request to access the requested shared device may then be transferred to the requested shared device by the device driver.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2001Date of Patent: September 11, 2007Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Antonio Abbondanzio, Thomas Charles Burke, Gregory William Dake, William Gavin Holland, William Joseph Piazza, Gregory Brian Pruett, David B.
