Publication number: 20140107429Abstract: Described are methods, systems, and mediums for testing neuromechanical and neurocognitive function which reflect physical and mental compromise that may be associated with, for example, traumatic brain injury (TBI). In particular, a computer-executed method, system, and computer readable medium for testing neuromechanical and neurocognitive function of a subject are described which measure a subject's performance in a test comprising one or more test modules designed to challenge neuromechanical and neurocognitive function and compare the performance to one or more baselines to evaluate physical and mental compromise.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2012Publication date: April 17, 2014Inventors: Charles A. Patent number: 8688997Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that uses digital certificates to facilitate enforcing licensing terms for applications that manipulate documents. During operation, the system obtains a credential, wherein the credential includes a private key and a digital certificate containing a corresponding public key. This digital certificate also contains a profile specifying allowed operations which can be performed on documents signed with the credential. Next, the system digitally signs a document using the credential, so that the resulting signed document is signed with the private key and includes a copy of the digital certificate with the profile specifying the allowed operations. The certificate issuer can subsequently revoke the digital certificate (which effectively revokes the license) if teens of a license agreement associated with the digital certificate are violated.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2011Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: Sujata Das, Sunil C. Agrawal, Charles R. Myers, IV

Patent number: 8472093Abstract: A machine-implemented process determines web press printing capabilities and costs of different printing organizations using a processor. The printing capabilities comprise a number of printing units and a number of supply roll stands supplying continuous print media to the printing units. A printing request is received from a print customer through a graphic user interface. The printing request is evaluated using the processor to determine printing request requirements. A comparator compares the printing request requirements with the printing capabilities and costs to identify capable printing organizations of the different printing organizations that have abilities to process the printing request. The processor calculates different print choices and costs based on the printing capabilities and costs of the capable printing organizations and outputs the different print choices and costs to the print customer through the graphic user interface.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2009Date of Patent: June 25, 2013Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Amarnath Purohit, Charles R. Myers, Lewis S. Snow, Sudhendu Rai

Patent number: 4343570Abstract: The present invention is directed to a support system and method which permits the self-driving supporting columns after the structure has been fully assembled in place and which utilizes the gravitational force acting on this structure to achieve self-driving of the columns in a predetermined direction (e.g., vertically). In this manner, pile driving, predrilling deepholes or preparation of concrete footings can be avoided. The support system of the present invention is also provided with means for resisting movement of the columns out of alignment with the predetermined direction as they are self-driven into the substrate and means for maintaining the structure in a predetermined elevation (e.g., horizontal) as the columns are driven. The system can also include many means for maintaining the structure at a predetermined height relative to the substrate over which it is supported.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1980Date of Patent: August 10, 1982Inventor: Charles R. Myer, II

Patent number: 4251240Abstract: A device for separating air entrained in, and associated with, liquid being pumped. The device comprises a tank member communicating with the intake chamber of a liquid pump and with a vacuum pump. Disposed within the tank member is an open container member having a liquid conduit connected with the intake chamber of the liquid pump. Integrally connected with the top of the tank member is a baffle member which extends downwardly into the container member in such manner that liquid flowing into the container from the tank member flows downwardly between the inner surface of the container and the outer surface of the baffle. Disposed within the container are means responsive to the level of the liquid within the container member. A first valve member responsive to the movement of the liquid level is provided for the discharge of gases into a gas exhaust chamber and out of the device through the vacuum pump.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1979Date of Patent: February 17, 1981Assignee: Griffin International, Inc.Inventors: Walter W. Brennan, Charles R. Myers, Paul E. Perry
