Publication number: 20110314203Abstract: Resource adjustment methods and systems for virtual machines (VMs) for use in at least one physical device are provided. First, a first VM having a first resource set and a second VM having a second resource set are respectively enabled to enter a suspended state. A first user space address and a second user space address are respectively obtained from a first VM memory page table corresponding to the first VM and a second VM page table corresponding to the second VM, and a first physical memory address corresponding to the first user space address in the physical device and a second physical memory address corresponding to the second user space address in the physical device are obtained from a Hypervisor. The first user space address is mapped to the second physical memory address by the Hypervisor. Then, the first VM is enabled to enter an execution state, and the second VM is stopped.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2010Publication date: December 22, 2011Inventors: Lee-Chung CHEN, Hui-Kuang Chung, Chih-Kai Hu, Chung-Ting Kao

Publication number: 20110298348Abstract: A linkage mechanism is configured between two relatively slidable first housing and second housing of a handheld device. The linkage mechanism can be actuated by a first actuator of the first housing when the second housing slides out at an opening status relative to the first housing. The linkage mechanism is actuated to rotate and then to drive a second actuator to slide on the second housing and the second actuator forces a supporter, which pivots to the second housing, to open at a predetermined angle relative to the second housing. The handheld device is made steady on a plane through the support provided by the opened supporter. When the handheld device slides in at a closing status, a restoring spring configured between the supporter and the second housing automatically folds the supporter.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2010Publication date: December 8, 2011Inventors: Chih-Kai Hu, I-Cheng Chuang

Patent number: 7485996Abstract: A position retention device includes a pivot member having a mounting axle, a cylindrical seat, a cylindrical housing and an annular member. A cylindrical seat is mounted co-axially on the mounting axle of the pivot member, and has pluralities of circumferentially formed and alternately disposed north and south pole sectors. A cylindrical housing is mounted co-axially and rotatably on the mounting axle of the pivot member. An annular member is disposed within the annular receiving chamber in the cylindrical housing for simultaneous rotation with the cylindrical housing. The annular member has pluralities of circumferentially formed and alternately disposed north and south pole sectors. Position of the cylindrical housing is retained stationarily with respect to the cylindrical seat by virtue of attraction between adjacent two of the north or south pole sectors of the cylindrical seat and the annular member.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2006Date of Patent: February 3, 2009Assignee: Asustek Computer Inc.Inventors: Hung-Chung Ku, Chih-Kai Hu, Pin-An Hsieh
