  • Patent number: 8984729
Abstract: A ski or snowboard includes a metal layer having integral flanges projecting from its opposite sides to define a cavity for receiving a base layer. Several additional layers of laminated wood and in some versions synthetic polymer or carbon are pressed and bonded together on the metal layer. A method of manufacturing includes a support plate which holds a base layer and edge members received in a slot in the perimeter of the base layer. Additional layers of the ski or snowboard are successively laid on the base layer and pressed and bonded together.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 6, 2012
Date of Patent: March 24, 2015
    Assignee: Ramp Sports, LLC

  • Publication number: 20070296181
Abstract: A board (1) for sliding on snow such as a ski, a monoski or a snowboard, with vertical plane of general symmetry (P), comprising a principal part, known as body or base (2), having the shape of an elongated beam having its own thickness distribution, contour, width and stiffness, and can be of any type of structure, and which includes a central zone known as of the waist (7) extended towards the front by a front part (8) raised at its end to form a tip (6), and towards the rear by a rear part (9) terminating in a tail (6?), including at least two supplemental elements (10) extending towards the front at least on the front part, to extend the zone of the waist, said supplemental elements including two longitudinal side arms (10a, 10b) disposed laterally relative to the plane ā€œPā€, said longitudinal side arms constituting at least a dynamic means for recall of the base, characterized in that the side arms are connected by a transverse connector (11) including a part independent of the side arms.

  • Patent number: 7258360
Abstract: Alpine ski (1) having a sidecut (9) which has a radius smaller than 24 meters, wherein the front (10) and/or rear (18) ends have a cavity (11, 15) opening longitudinally at said end, the dimensions of the cavity (11, 15) allowing the deformation of said end when a transverse force is exerted at the front and/or rear contact lines so as to permit the inner and outer edges of the ski to move closer to one another.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 11, 2003
Date of Patent: August 21, 2007
    Assignee: Skis Rossignol S.A.
