  • Patent number: 11333841
Abstract: An enclosure configured to simultaneously accommodate different connectorization applications includes a backplate and a bulkhead bracket and splice retention clips coupled to the backplate. The bulkhead bracket includes openings configured to house adapters for a first connecterized application. The splice retention clips are configured to accommodate one or more of a fusion splice protector and a mechanical splice for a second connecterized application. The bulkhead bracket, with or without an adapter, is configured to be uncoupled from the backplate to allow access to the splice retention clips for insertion or deletion of the fusion splice protector or the mechanical splice. The bulkhead bracket is configured to be recoupled with the backplate and over the splice retention clips.

  • Patent number: 10187515
Abstract: A method of providing a telecommunications service using a network interface device (NID) is provided. The method includes connecting a provider line to one or more protector assemblies connected to a ground bar and configured to conduct current surges from the NID to ground. The one or more protector assemblies are electrically connected to an insulation displacement connector (IDC) module. An outgoing jack module wire is connected to the IDC module by inserting the outgoing jack module wire into a wire insertion hole of the IDC module to receive signals from the provider line. The outgoing jack module wire is electrically connected to a jack module outside the NID thereby providing a demarcation point. An incoming jack module wire is electrically connected to the jack module for carrying signals back to the NID.

  • Publication number: 20180031788
Abstract: A fiber optic/electrical distribution device having a housing defining an interior volume is disclosed. An electrical cable port extends into the interior volume and is accessible externally from the housing, wherein the electrical cable port is sealed to prevent ingress of dust and water into the interior volume. A fiber optic cable port extends into the interior volume and is accessible externally from the housing. The fiber optic cable port is sealed to prevent ingress of dust and water into the interior volume. A conversion assembly having a printed circuit board (PCB) and fiber optic cable tray supported in stacked alignment with the PCB is positioned in the interior volume. The PCB has an optical/electrical converter and an electrical power circuit. A defined spacing is maintained between the PCB and the fiber optic cable tray, and the PCB and the fiber optic cable tray are maintained in lateral alignment.

  • Patent number: 9444190
Abstract: An adapter for grounding a protector module in a network interface device (NID) is provided. The adapter includes a body, and at least one ground mount area on the body. Each ground mount area includes a ground post extending from the body and configured to conductively couple to the protector module. A connector extends from the body and is configured to conductively couple to a grounding element of the NID. The body, the at least one ground post and the connector are conductive. The adapter allows for reuse of existing protector modules that do not have a ground adapter for direct mounting to a ground post by using the vertical grounding feature found in the protector module.

  • Publication number: 20140118891
Abstract: A Network Interface Device (NID) line module that includes a module housing configured to receive, in one or more cavities, a removable plug component containing a bridging contact. The line module has a subscriber wire contact connected to a plurality of subscriber wires and a provider wire contact connected to a plurality of provider wires. The bridging contact contacts the subscriber wire contact and the provider wire contact making an electrical connection between the subscriber wire contact and the provider wire contact when the removable plug component is installed in the module housing. When the removable plug component is removed and detached from the one or more cavities on the module housing, the electrical connection between the subscriber wire contact and provider wire contact is broken.
