  • Patent number: 10501367
Abstract: Ceramics and glass-ceramics have low and/or negative coefficients of thermal expansion. Crystalline phases of the formula AM2Si2-yGeyO7 (A=Sr and Ba and M=Zn, Mg, Ni, Co, Fe, Cu, Mn, with Sr, Ba and Zn necessarily having to be present) can be produced by conventional ceramic processes or by crystallization from glasses. The compositions form solid solutions, where the elements indicated as component M can be replaced by one another in virtually any concentration but the concentration of Zn must always be at least 50% of the sum of all components indicated under M. The stoichiometry of these silicates and also their structure can differ to a greater or lesser extent.

  • Patent number: 9745031
Abstract: A fin stabilizer for stabilizing a watercraft against rolling movements includes a main fin configured to be pivoted by a watercraft-side fin drive, a tail fin, and an elastically deformable connection between the main fin and the tail fin, the elastically deformable connection being configured to flex whenever a water force acting on the tail fin is greater than a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 7334742
Abstract: The present application describes a spraying device with droplet hold-back. The droplet hold-back is formed by a baffle, which collects the droplets in a defined volume. From this volume, the droplets can be suctioned by means of a suction opening and supplied to a filter system for purification. In this manner, a purified air can be supplied again to the surrounding air.

  • Patent number: 6032602
Abstract: A device for guiding the flow of floating objects. The device is connected to a hull of the floating object and, depending on the flow, feeds hydrodynamic forces into the hull. The device shows a main flow body which is designed in a more flat-topped manner in the area of a leading head than in the area of a trailing end. In the flow direction, a secondary body is placed behind the trailing end, which secondary body shows a rounded cross-sectional contour. The secondary body is equipped with a flow-through recess. Furthermore, the secondary body is, regarding an axis of revolution that runs at an angle to the flow direction, guided in an adjustable manner.

  • Patent number: 5632661
Abstract: Device which is independent of the main propulsion system of a ship, and which can be used selectively as a passive rudder or as an active maneuvering mechanism, and consists of one or more blades, a wheel body, a transmission and one or more control units. When the wheel body is stationary, in response to commands from the control unit or units, the blades can be oriented separately by means of the transmission and can be coupled or uncoupled to set the required angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the ship. In that case, the device acts as a passive rudder. When the wheel body is rotating, the position of the eccentrically located blade or blades is varied during a rotation of the wheel body so that a resulting thrust is generated on account of the hydrodynamic forces which act on the blade or blades. The direction of the thrust can be set in any desired direction by means of the control unit or control units and the sun wheel or the sun wheels of the transmission.
