  • Publication number: 20120045493
Abstract: A water soluble cosmetic or pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical actives in an electrolyte solution which, when impregnated with one or more retentive fillers (such as, for example, silica or hydrophobically modified silica, lamellar filler, crosspolymer, cellulosic, resins, or silicone elastomers) can form stable solid compositions with structurants. Such solid compositions do not require a higher buffer pH or leave residues upon application to the skin. Solid compositions according to the present invention are suitable for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes such as antiperspirants, deodorants, lip products, and other topical applications.

  • Publication number: 20040241196
Abstract: The invention is a clear (50-250 NTU at 21.0 degrees C.), high efficacy liquid gel composition which is a low viscosity (about 5,000-75,000 centipoise) water-in-oil, elastomer-free emulsion. These liquid gels comprise a glycine containing antiperspirant active with a low metal to chloride ratio in a high water content (>30 weight % of the formula) internal (aqueous) phase, a copolyol, and a fragrance solubilizer in the external phase. The external (oil) phase of the composition is free of silicone emollients that have a high refractive index (R.I. >1.4200). The liquid gel antiperspirant/deodorant compositions of this invention comprise a minimum of at least 14 weight % of the active salt.

  • Patent number: 6040288
Abstract: Provided are methods of washing fabric articles in the presence of silicone oils to provide for color protection and/or fragrance retention in the washing of fabric articles with detergents. Fabric articles are washed in a washing medium comprised of a major amount by weight of water, a first minor amount by weight of a detergent and a second minor amount by weight of an aminosilicone having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: the variables are defined in the specification wherein said first minor amount by weight is greater than said second minor amount by weight. In preferred embodiments of this method, said washing medium is the product of mixing water with a composition comprised of said aminosilicone compound in association with an insoluble support. In particularly preferred embodiments, an aminosilicone compound wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.8 are both alkoxy, (typically methoxy) is employed.
