  • Patent number: 11919260
Abstract: A process for shaping, by compaction, a fibrous structure obtained by three-dimensional or multilayer weaving between a plurality of layers of warp yarns and a plurality of layers of weft yarns. The yarns of each plurality of layers of warp yarns and layers of weft yarns are coated with a sizing composition. The shaping includes a pre-compaction stage followed by a stage of final compaction of the fibrous structure. During pre-compaction and final compaction, the fibrous structure is at a temperature greater than or equal to the softening temperature of the sizing composition. The process further includes the cooling of the fibrous preform obtained after final compaction of the fibrous structure.

  • Patent number: 11823582
Abstract: Methods and systems for optimizing the flight of an aircraft are disclosed. The trajectory is divided into segments, each of the segments being governed by distinct sets of equations, depending on engine thrust mode and on vertical guidance (climb, cruise or descent). By assuming two, aerodynamic and engine-speed, models, data from flight recordings are received and a number of parameters from a parameter-optimization engine is iteratively determined by applying a least-squares calculation until a predefined minimality criterion is satisfied. The parameter optimization engine is next used to predict the trajectory point following a given point. Software aspects and system (e.g. FMS and/or EFB) aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 11767613
Abstract: A method of making a medical implant is provided by electrospinning a polymer solution to form a preform around a mandrel. The formed preform distinguishes an inner surface and an outer surface. The formed preform is removed from the mandrel and flipped inside-out resulting in the inner surface of the formed preform becoming the outer surface of the inside-out flipped preform, and the outer surface of the formed preform becoming the inner surface of the inside-out flipped preform. At least part of the inside-out flipped preform forms the medical implant such as e.g. an artificial heart valve, an artificial leaflet, an artificial graft, or an artificial vessel. The products made according to the method of this invention greatly improve the performance and durability of the medical implant.

  • Publication number: 20230017760
Abstract: A method for determining a trajectory of an aircraft intended to fly over a field of operation with a view to performing an action on a target at a given time is provided. The method comprises a step of computing a set of sections between a starting point, intermediate points and the target. A first type of section has a rectilinear overall shape so as to limit the time spent by the aircraft in non-secure areas. A second type of section has a sinusoidal shape so as to allow a time reserve to adjust a position of the aircraft over the target at said given time with a view to performing the action.

  • Patent number: 10876222
Abstract: Endoluminal and other as implantable prostheses are fabricated in electrospinning apparatus including a target and an applicator. A solution comprising a polymer and a solvent is directed to the target with a first electrical potential between the target and the applicator to produce a first set of fibers. The same or another solution is continued to be delivered through the applicator onto the target while applying a second electrical potential to produce a second set of fibers having a second solvent fraction, and the same or different solution may be delivered while applying a third potential difference to produce a laminated structure having at least three layers. By properly controlling the electrical potentials and solvent fractions, an adhesive layer can be formed to serve a glue or adhesive between the inner and outer layers, and a stent or other scaffold may be positioned between the inner and outer layers to form a covered stent or graft.
