  • Publication number: 20120143881
Abstract: Relay of information from technical documentation by contact center workers to assist clients is limited by industry standard storage formats and query mechanisms. A method is disclosed for processing technical documents and tagging them against a Telecom Hardware domain ontology. The method comprises classical ontological Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches to extract information from both text segments and tables, identifying text segments, named entities and relations between named entities described by an existing T-Box. A method for scoring candidate object property assertions derived from text before populating the Telecom Hardware ontology is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8088516
Abstract: A battery cell has a plurality of first and second electrodes of opposite polarities that are interleaved. Each of the first and second electrodes is a sheet of non-woven fabric having a first edge from which a tab projects, and a second edge transverse to and substantially longer than the first edge. The non-woven fabric is coated with a metal in a manner that forms a strip along the second edge which has a greater electrical conductivity than areas more remote from the second edge. The strip extends along the tab. A first terminal is electrically connected to the strip along the tabs of the first electrodes, and a second terminal is electrically connected to the strip along the tabs of the second electrodes.

  • Patent number: 7923655
Abstract: A sorter system includes a plurality of sortation bins with a feed path connected to the plurality of sortation bins for transporting media items to destination sortation bins. A controller is connected to control the plurality of sortation bins and is operable during a sortation process to reassign the destination sortation bin into which a media item is sorted. The system operation may employ a method for sorting media items where a plurality of media items are fed onto a transport system for sortation. Each media items is sorted into a destination sortation bin of a plurality of sortation bins connected to said transport system. Destination sortation bins for media items are dynamically reassigned based of the determined status of the media items in the sortation bins. The status of media items is sensed in each of said plurality of sortation bins may be determined based on sensors associated with the equipment or tracked by a controller or other techniques which track the mail pieces being processed.

  • Publication number: 20080250023
Abstract: A system and method for maintaining and accessing a database containing a number of content segments indexed by broadcast time is provided. If a user is interested in a particular content segment broadcasted from a station, he activates a portable bookmarking device which creates an entry comprising a broadcast time and a user preference indicator. In one form, the user may activate one or more buttons to indicate a positive or negative preference, while in another form a number of buttons may represent a number of categories of interest, such as varying genres. Upon coupling with a gateway, the user is presented with content selected from the database based upon the created time entries. In a further form, the system intelligently identifies the broadcast station likely associated with a bookmark and additionally may perform a correction process to ensure bookmark time accuracy.
