  • Patent number: 9851109
Abstract: A method of operating a heating device includes heating air in a heating device chamber. The method further includes exhausting outgoing air from the heating device chamber via a first flow path through which the outgoing air flows in a first direction, and supplying incoming air to the heating device chamber via a second flow path through which the incoming air flows in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The latent heat in the outgoing air in the first flow path is transferred to the incoming air in the second flow path thereby condensing water vapor contained in the outgoing air to produce liquid water.

  • Publication number: 20170214588
Abstract: Various embodiments collect unproductive resources in a network infrastructure. In one embodiment, data relating to resources of a network infrastructure is collected. An analytics model is selected based on a type of the collected data. The selected analytics model is executed to classify a resource unproductive or productive, and to assign a corresponding confidence level. An action plan for each confidence level is determined and the action plan is executed for the resource. The collected data may include resource utilization information, hypervisor information, cloud related meta-data, user knowledge and system knowledge. When data is only resource data, a resource mining model is selected. When the data includes reference data, a reference mining model is selected. When the data comprises reference data and resource data, a reference mining model is selected.

  • Patent number: 9710700
Abstract: A system for activity monitoring includes a tracking component, an activity identification component, a procedural component, and a notification component. The tracking component tracks an individual and one or more objects in a work area using a three-dimensional tracking system. The activity identification component identifies an activity of the individual and any of the one or more objects that are affected by the activity. The procedural component determines whether the activity violates one or more procedural rules pertaining to one or more of the individual, the work area, and the one or more objects. The notification component provides a notification of a violation.

  • Publication number: 20170162073
Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles to provide customized cooking instructions to users via a communications device. The user is provided with audio/visual prompts depicting one or more ending characteristics of a food product, such as texture or doneness. The user provides a selection of the one or more ending characteristics according to the user's preferences. A processor-based device determines one or more output food preparation parameters based on the user's selection of the one or more ending characteristics for the food product. The one or more determined output food preparation parameters are provided to a communication device of the user so that the user may cook the food product according to the output food preparation parameters.

  • Publication number: 20170150842
Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles to provide customized control of a cooking appliance, such as a sous vide cooker. A user provides a selection of one or more ending characteristics for a food product. A processor-based device determines one or more output food preparation parameters based on the user's selection of the one or more ending characteristics. Measurements of temperature, power delivery, or other characteristics may be obtained during cooking process. A cooking program controlling the cooking process may be revised or updated based at least in part on the obtained measurements or analysis of the measurements. Estimations or projections about the cooking process may be presented to a user via a user interface of the cooking appliance or a user interface of one or more computing devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet computer) associated with the user.

  • Publication number: 20170139385
Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles for gathering and utilizing individual and aggregate data from connected cooking devices, online recipe databases and/or mobile applications. Cooking instructions may be stored as processor-readable cooking programs that use mutable real time status updates as input. Such programs may be chosen via a user computing device and may be further parameterized by numeric, textual or camera-based inputs. Various methods may be used to determine what foods a user is preparing, and what equipment and techniques are used. This data may be supplemented with feedback to verify what was cooked, how the result compared to visual representation in advance of cooking, and satisfaction level. The data may be used to reproduce past cooking results, adjust future recipes, suggest recipes or products, or connecting users to online communities of users. Cooking data may be used to offer just-in-time problem solving, products, or connection to other users.
