Abstract: A system for capturing airborne particles from a mixing apparatus for mixing mineral based building materials, particularly such materials containing a silica based material, wherein there is a hood assembly attachable to a mixing apparatus and positionable such that airborne particles generated in loading the mixing apparatus are drawn into the hood, the hood being operatively connectable to a vacuum/filtration apparatus.

Abstract: A system for use with a gunite rig to capture airborne gunite type materials, particularly those containing silica, during the preparation of the gunite. In one respect, as the bags of silica-containing material are placed in the mixing section of the gunite rig and ripped open, airborne gunite dust is captured by a hood and suction system positioned above the mixer. Further, the mitigation system includes a plenum box and suction system positioned adjacent the mouth of a gunite pot to capture gunite dust generated as the mixed gunite material falls from a hopper into the gunite pot.

Abstract: A monolithic refractory anchor which has a bridge portion and first and second V-shaped end portions attached to opposite ends of the bridge portion. The anchor has a pedestal located generally centrally of the anchor which extends below the bottom surfaces of the wing portions of the V-shaped sections, the pedestal forming a single welding attachment point for attachment, preferably by stud welding, to a metal substrate.

Abstract: A refractory anchor and method of use. The anchor is made by combining two similar sections that are clinched together to form an elongated X-shape. The bilateral symmetrical shape affords maximum anchorage of the refractory, and through-flow of the refractory is afforded by voids through the anchor. The anchor has feet that attach to the surface to be protected, thus allowing refractory to migrate under the anchor. The similar sections can also be used alone as anchors where placement area is limited or irregular. In an alternative embodiment, the anchors have only center feet, to allow them to be stud welded. The anchors are useful in both repair work as well as new refractory applications.
