  • Publication number: 20240046539
Abstract: A method for generating a digital image collage is provided. The method includes accessing digital images stored in a memory; selecting first, second and third digital images; generating a first aperture in a collage template layout, and populating the first aperture with the first digital image; randomly dividing the first aperture into second and third apertures, populating the second and third apertures with the first and second digital images, respectively; randomly dividing the second aperture into fourth and fifth apertures, populating the third aperture with one of the three digital images, populating the fourth aperture with another of the three digital images, populating the fifth aperture with the remaining digital image, identifying one of the three digital images as a target digital image; and changing the size of the respective aperture associated with the target digital image so that the respective aperture includes a greatest aperture area.

  • Patent number: 11810232
Abstract: A method for generating a digital image collage is provided. The method includes displaying a collage template on a user interface, wherein the collage template includes populating a plurality of randomly configured apertures with digital images; assigning a weight to each of the apertures based on an area of the apertures; and selecting a new digital image to add in the layout. In response to the user input command, comparing the weights assigned to the respective apertures in the layout to identify an aperture having the greatest weight among the apertures; randomly dividing the aperture having the greatest weight into two new apertures to change the layout to a different arrangement; and populating the two new apertures and the remaining undivided apertures among the plurality of apertures in the layout with the new selected digital image and the previously selected digital images, thereby generating the digital image collage.

  • Patent number: 9652701
Abstract: A scoring and weighting system and method for providing print device selection on the basis of product characteristics that are specified for a print product is provided. The system determines the properties of one or more printing devices in relation to the product characteristics. The printing devices have one or more print mediums for providing the print product. A score is derived by determining a status respecting the conformity of the one or more print mediums to the product characteristics and evaluating the one or more printing devices' properties. Associating that score with each of the one or more printing device. Also, associating the print product with a print job and utilizing the score to route the print job to one of the one or more printing devices to produce the print product on one of the one or more print mediums.

  • Patent number: 5479523
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for constructing a classification weights matrix for a pattern recognition system are provided which enable large system feature sets to be reduced and yield at least the same level of performance achieved using the large feature set. Methods and apparatus are also described for determining (evaluating) the classification efficiency of selected subsets of a given feature set. Further aspects of the invention are directed to: (a) methods and apparatus for constructing reduced element classification weights matrices utilizing a genetic search process to find the subset having a maximum classification efficiency; and (b) pattern recognition systems (including, in particular, character identification systems), which utilize classifiers constructed in accordance with the aforementioned aspects of the invention to actually perform pattern recognition.
