Abstract: A method and apparatus for notifying authors of a statistical anomaly in paperwork is described herein. During operation information within fields of the paperwork will be identified that statistically differ from information contained in other paperwork from the same incident and/or other paperwork from similar incidents.

Abstract: Methods and systems of breaking pursuit of a target. One example embodiment includes an electronic processor configured to develop a first identifier for the target and determine a breaking junction and an intercept point associated with a cornering route. The processor is configured to determine a geographical area associated with at least one possible target flee route for the target and determine a second identifier for an object within the geographical area. The processor is configured to develop a discrimination factor representing a degree of differentiation of the first identifier from the second identifier. The processor is configured to predict whether the discrimination factor will exceed a threshold when the pursuit asset arrives at the breaking junction. The processor is configured to, in response to the discrimination factor exceeding the threshold, notify the pursuit asset to break pursuit of the target at the breaking junction to execute the cornering route.

Abstract: A process for protecting confidentiality of audio messages that are received at an electronic computing device for providing a corresponding audio output at electronic audio output devices. In operation, the electronic computing device partitions the audio message into audio content segments, where each audio content segment is assigned to a respective confidentiality level. The electronic computing device determines a current exposure level of the electronic audio output device. The electronic computing device further determines whether the audio message is to be modified based on a current exposure level of the electronic audio output device and the respective confidentiality level assigned to each audio content segment. An audio output corresponding to the modified audio message is provided at the electronic audio output device when it is determined that the audio message is to be modified.

Abstract: A process for preempting a transmission during a group call. An electronic computing device detects a user interaction by a first talk group member with multimedia content corresponding to an incident and determines an interaction measure corresponding to the user interaction with the multimedia content. The electronic computing device then adjusts a transmission preemption priority assigned to the first talk group member based on the interaction measure and an incident priority level associated with the incident. When a user input to initiate a transmission from a first communication device associated with a first talk group member is detected, the electronic computing device preempts a transmission from a second communication device associated with a second talk group member participating in the group call when the adjusted transmission preemption priority assigned to the first talk group member is greater than a transmission preemption priority assigned to the second talk group member.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing digital image data representing multiple views of an object of interest use a sparse set of digital images along with object of interest profiling to provide a photo gallery for evidence-related workflows. Digital images are related to each other on the basis of common objects of interest represented in the images and their orientations within the views depicted in each image. Object of interest profile datasets, including spatial orientation data, enable efficient tracking of photography sessions in which a set of prescribed views of an object of interest are meant to be captured, as well as object-orientation-based photo gallery navigation. The systems recognize of a set of physical gestures that enable a user to intuitively navigate among digital images depicting different views of an object of interest based on how they were physically related to each other when captured.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a success or failure of a software update is provided herein. When software is updated, part of the update process will require a radio to be configured to communicate on a new “update talkgroup”. As part of the update process, the user's device will send a short PTT bursts on the update talkgroup. If the PTT burst on the update talkgroup is received, it is assumed that the update was successful. If, however, the PTT burst on the update talkgroup is not received, it is assumed that the update was unsuccessful, stopping any further updates to other radios.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically assigning priority for shared spectrum communication systems. One method includes receiving, via a communication interface of a base station, a call request from a first communication device identifying a second communication device and a first spectrum priority level for the first communication device. The method includes establishing a call, having the first priority level, between the first and second communication devices. The method includes determining a second spectrum priority level for the second communication device, and, when the second priority level is lower than the first priority level, transmitting, to a spectrum manager, a priority assignment request to assign the first priority level to the second communication device after the call is terminated.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing video stream data during live video sharing may reduce network bandwidth consumption by streaming full and partial video frames. An image processing device receives information from an image capturing device including a first full video frame, an object of interest identifier, and a movement profile of the image capturing device. The image processing device extracts a background portion from the first full video frame, exclusive of the object of interest. Subsequently, the image processing device receives a partial second video frame including only an object of interest portion, applies a transformation to the extracted background portion based on the movement profile, and displays a representation of the second video frame including the object of interest portion of the second video frame and the transformed background portion. The image processing device performs fine tuning to compensate for small background or movement profile changes between partial frames.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for notifying a user that a device needs to be serviced is provided herein. During operation, a device will determine that at least the first device has been serviced or needs to be serviced. When this occurs, the device will determine members of a personal-area-network (PAN) that includes/included the first device, and notify a user that the PAN members should be serviced as well.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for annotating video is provided herein. During annotation of a video, important objects are identified, and annotations are placed on top of objects/subjects in the video that are not identified as important to a particular incident type. With this technique, annotations can be implemented without blocking objects/subjects deemed important for a particular incident type.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for leveraging past search results is provided herein. During operation a search string/phrase is received from a person and the search string is provided to a search engine. A plurality of search results is received from the search engine. A database of past search results is accessed, and a search result from the plurality of search results is deprioritized if the search result is included in the database of past search results.
