    Abstract: The automatic testing apparatus is connected to a power supply system and to the connecting terminal of transmission and distribution lines of a subdistribution frame in a telephone installation. The apparatus comprises a keyboard for successively entering the numerical codes and constitution numbers of the technical subscriber-file to be checked, connectors to be joined to the terminals of the subdistribution frame, a test unit comprising a programmed microprocessor for storing the entered data and initiating transmission of a coded signal to the transmission and distribution cables of the telephone pairs to be tested. This signal is tested in order to check whether the designated constitution is correct or not in the corresponding pairs of the transmission and distribution cable terminals of the subdistribution frame, the results of the test being then displayed on a printer.
