Patent number: 10942111Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to detecting species within a fluid using a multi-pass absorption cell and a spectrometer. The absorption cell includes a plurality of mirrors arranged in a manner such that a detection light traverses multiple passes through the fluid within the absorption cell. In some implementations, the detection light is reflected by the plurality of mirrors to form optical paths in more than one plane. The system also includes an electronic unit configured to receive and process spectral data from the spectrometer. In some implementations, the electronic unit communicates with at least one computational unit over a communication interface to send a portion of the spectral data for processing. The electronic unit may also receive processed data from the computational unit.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2018Date of Patent: March 9, 2021Assignee: Duvas Technologies LimitedInventor: Craig Sawyers

Patent number: 10921553Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to optics used in absorption cell spectrometers. The absorption cell includes a plurality of mirrors arranged in a manner such that a detection light traverses multiple passes through the fluid within the absorption cell. In some implementations, the detection light is reflected by the plurality of mirrors to form optical paths in more than one plane. In some implementations, the orientation of the mirrors are aligned with specific orientations to provide the desired optical path to the detection light. In one or more embodiments, an alignment apparatus can be used to pre-align the mirrors before they are placed within the absorption cell. The alignment apparatus includes an aperture plate and an adjustable mount to mount one or more mirrors. The mirrors are aligned based on reflected images on the aperture plate laser light incident on the mirrors.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2016Date of Patent: February 16, 2021Assignee: Duvas Technologies LimitedInventor: Craig Sawyers

Patent number: 9933355Abstract: A multipass spectroscopic absorption cell comprises at least a first reflector (40) and a second reflector (42) that are configured to reflect a beam of light multiple times through a sample volume (V). At least one of the first and second reflectors (40,42) defines a principal optical axis (A) that extends through the sample volume (V). An optical folding system (52) is located on the principal optical axis (A) between the first and second reflectors, said optical folding system being configured to fold the principal optical axis (A) through an angle greater than 0°.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2014Date of Patent: April 3, 2018Assignee: DUVAS TECHNOLOGIES LIMITEDInventor: Craig Sawyers

Patent number: 4787818Abstract: A centrifugal blower assembly is provided which includes an improved blower housing construction wherein a pair of end panels each define a plurality of apertures disposed along a line corresponding to the profile of a blower spiral. An elongated scroll member includes a plurality of tab members spaced along each longitudinal side and extending through the apertures in the pair of end panels for conforming the scroll member to the blower spiral profile. At least a portion of the plurality of tab members are deformed relative to the apertures to maintain a connection between the scroll member and the end panels to form the blower housing. The assembly also provides isolated drive motor and air intake compartments, combined motor mount and support means for blower housing, and access for removing the drive motor from its compartment without removal of any side walls.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1987Date of Patent: November 29, 1988Assignee: Jenn Industries, Inc.Inventors: Michael E.
