  • Patent number: 4178479
Abstract: Communication processor apparatus for use in a TDM telephone system operating in a multiframe format consisting of a plurality of time frames where each time frame consists of a plurality of time slots having a time slot rate and where the plurality of frames includes signaling frames having supervisory signals where the supervisory signals occur as a signaling bit during each time slot in the signaling frame. The telephone system includes a base switch connected to a plurality of multitime slot data buses for switching encoded data between specified time slots on the buses and also includes a subscriber switch for connecting a plurality of local subscriber lines to time slots on a pair of the buses.
