Abstract: A microporous film can be made by adding a foaming agent to the components of a film material to create bubbles in the film. The microporous film can also be made by adding filaments to the components of the film material and dissolving the filaments to create the pores. In either process, the size of the pores can be controlled to be no greater than 0.027 .mu.m.

Abstract: A surgical drape comprising, a main sheet of flexible material having an inner surface for facing a patient after placement of the drape, an outer surface for facing away from the patient after placement of the drape, and a fenestration. The drape has a pocket comprising a secondary sheet of flexible material having a pair of end edges, a pair of side edges connecting the end edges, a first surface, and an opposing second surface. The secondary sheet has a first fold line extending between the end edges at a location between the side edges and defining a pair of first and second panels extending between the first fold line and the side edges. The first surface of the first and second panels face each other in the folded sheet. The first and second panels have second and third fold lines defining a pair of opposed first and second flaps and a central portion extending between the flaps.

Abstract: A disposable garment comprising, a gown having a pair of sleeves, a front, a pair of side margins defining an open back for the gown, and a tunnel having a pair of opposed closed sides, and a pair of opposed ends being open. The garment has a first belt having one end secured to the gown and the other end being free, and a second belt having one end secured to the gown. The garment has a transfer card having one end received in the tunnel through one of said open ends, and the other end of the first belt is releasably attached to the card adjacent the other end of the card.

The garment has a first belt having one end secured to the gown and the other end being free. The garment has a second belt having one end secured to the gown. The garment also has a transfer card having a lower side edge, and a pair of generally aligned slits extending from the side edge and defining a tongue. The other end of the first belt is releasably attached to the card, with the card tongue being received behind the second belt to hold the card in place on the gown.

Abstract: In a full length therapeutic stocking of the type having a boot portion including elastomeric yarn, waist support means spaced above the boot portion, and a hip panel extending between the boot portion and the waist support means, that improvement including a pair of stocking supports extending between and attached to the waist support means and the boot portion, each support comprising a strip of fabric extending from a respective point at the waist support means to a respective point at the upper edge of the boot portion, and each of the respective points of one of the supports being spaced circumferentially of the stocking from the corresponding respective point of the other of the supports.
