  • Patent number: 9074519
Abstract: A new architecture of a combustion chamber for a diesel engine allows arranging the engine valves according to an axis inclined with respect to the cylinder axis by an angle greater than 8°, without reducing the swirl ratio obtained at the end of the compression stage.

  • Patent number: 8572963
Abstract: A supercharged internal combustion engine includes a motor unit having a head and an exhaust manifold. A turbocharger assembly is fluid dynamically connected to the exhaust manifold, wherein the turbocharger assembly includes a turbine, a central body and a compressor. The turbocharger assembly includes a lubrication channel for the passage of a lubricating fluid hydraulically connected to a lubrication circuit of the motor unit of said internal combustion engine. The turbine includes a jacket, provided at least in part in a body thereof, arranged for the passage of a cooling fluid and in hydraulic communication with an inlet channel and an outlet channel hydraulically connected to a cooling circuit of the motor unit of said internal combustion engine. The inlet channel, outlet channel and lubrication channel are integrated in said turbocharger assembly in correspondence of a connection interface between said turbocharger assembly and the motor unit.

  • Patent number: 8132561
Abstract: Provided in a gas-feed system, in particular a system for supplying methane or hydrogen to an internal-combustion engine, is an electronic pressure-reducer or pressure-regulator unit, integrated in which are both a pressure-reducing valve for reducing the pressure of the gas coming from the fuel tank to a value suitable for supplying a distribution manifold or rail and a modulating solenoid valve that functions as modulator of the degree of pressure reduction performed by the pressure-reducing valve. Likewise made in the body of said unit are passages that provide the communications of said valves with one another and of each of said valves with the inlet and the outlet for the gas in said unit. Furthermore, the unit incorporates an electronic control module for controlling the modulating solenoid valve.

  • Patent number: 7140336
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine with variable actuation valves, each variable actuation valve is actuated by an actuator assembly including an actuating piston slidably mounted in a guide bushing. Between the actuating piston and the stem of the respective valve is interposed an auxiliary hydraulic tappet positioned outside the guide bushing of the actuating piston, so that said bushing can be dimensioned with a relatively small diameter, regardless of the outer diameter of the auxiliary hydraulic tappet. The intake valves of a same cylinder are actuated by a single cam, by means of a single pumping piston and by means of a single pressure chamber controlled by a single solenoid valve.
