    Abstract: Systems and methods for producing a calibration standard for an optical analysis system (e.g., a diagnostic reader) from a live test sample are disclosed. The calibration standard may include an image reproduced on a substrate. The reproduced image may be a replication of a digital image of a live test sample captured using the optical analysis system and then digitally processed to be reproduced on the substrate. The image reproduced on the substrate may include at least one optical feature digitally added to the replication of the digital image of the live test sample. The added optical features may be used to allow for more robust calibration using the calibration standard.

    Abstract: An optical analysis system is disclosed. The optical analysis system includes a wireless optical device. The wireless optical device includes a body with a port that receives a test strip. A sensor array may be positioned within the body that aligns with at least part of the test strip. The sensor array may include a plurality of individually addressable sensors and at least one illumination element associated with each sensor. The at least one illumination element may illuminate a discrete portion of the test strip that is aligned with the individually addressable sensor associated with the at least one illumination element. The sensors may independently assess reflected illumination signals from the discrete portions of the test strip aligned with the individually addressable sensors.

The housing is configured to receive a test media adapter and has a barrier wall configured to separate the test media adapter from an interior of the housing. The barrier wall includes a window having an interior side and an exterior side. The membrane is transparent to a wavelength useful for imaging test media in the test media adapter. The membrane has a reactive region and overlies at least a portion of the exterior side of the window. The optical imager is located interior to the housing and is configured to image the test media located on the exterior side of the window along an optical path extending through the window and the membrane.
