  • Patent number: 10043425
Abstract: Display of a test pattern on a liquid crystal display (“LCD”) device or other display device can expose a problem with control logic that causes perceptible shifting in color values away from correct color values. For example, a test pattern evaluation tool determines a test pattern that is based at least in part on a base pattern of pixels. The test pattern evaluation tool successively renders the test pattern for display on a display device. In doing so, the test pattern evaluation tool offsets the base pattern by a number of pixels (e.g., shifting by one pixel horizontally) between successive rendering operations at the native refresh rate of the display device, which facilitates evaluation of whether chromatic shift is induced among at least some sub-pixel display elements of the display device.

  • Publication number: 20170111418
Abstract: Technologies are described for providing a two-way interactive streaming media experience. For example, streaming media comprising streaming video can be received along with overlay control data and a web overlay. The web overlay can be composited on top of the streaming video according to timing information in the overlay control data. Users can interact with the web overlay (e.g., select buttons or perform other actions). Indications of user interactions can be provided to a server environment and updated streaming media, new web overlays, and/or new web content can be received as a result.

  • Publication number: 20100170672
Abstract: A method of recovering hydrocarbons from a subterranean reservoir. The method includes drilling a substantially-vertical primary production well, drilling a plurality of offset production wells generally around the substantially-vertical primary production well in a radial orientation, and drilling a plurality of offset injection wells generally around the substantially-vertical primary production well in a radial orientation. The method further includes injecting, via the plurality of offset injection wells, a liquid to mobilize the hydrocarbons from the subterranean reservoir and inducing the mobilized hydrocarbons to migrate towards the plurality of offset production wells for secondary recovery and injecting, via the plurality of offset injection wells, a gas to mobilize the hydrocarbons from the subterranean reservoir and inducing the mobilized hydrocarbons to migrate towards the plurality of offset production wells for tertiary recovery.

  • Publication number: 20070224292
Abstract: An extended energy drinkable beverage composition includes: caffeine, chromium in the form of chromium polynicotinate, niacin and the electrolytes calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, and the nutrient Vitamin C. The invention also relates to a method to use the composition, with the following effects: increased mental alertness, decreased fatigue, improved aerobic capacity, elevated mood, and increased overall circulation along with the associated benefits such as improved sensations of warmth in the extremities. The synergistic relationships of the caffeine, electrolytes, niacin, and chromium polynicotinate in this formulation result in an enhanced and prolonged ergogenic effect without the requirement of additional calories from carbohydrates.

  • Patent number: 7078658
Abstract: A heater mat for using the Joule effect to heat an aerodynamic surface. The heater mat is provided with a resistor element including at least two substantially parallel segments of electrically-conductive fibers disposed on the aerodynamic surface. The segments come from a single strip of electrically-conductive fibers, with two adjacent segments being obtained by folding a portion of the single strip at least twice.

  • Patent number: 6578265
Abstract: In order to remove a plate made from a material that can be heated by electromagnetic induction and retained on a supporting member by a heat-fusible adhesive, an inductor is displaced facing at least one strip of the plate in order to heat the strip by induction and heat the adhesive by conduction until the adhesive softens, and a tearing tool is driven so as to tear out the heated strip by hot-peeling. The inductor and the tearing tool are displaced jointly relative to the plate and the supporting member by means of a mobile frame, which is displaced on a stationary frame on which the supporting member and the plate are fixed.

  • Patent number: 6102662
Abstract: The shielding of the blade against lightning comprises a conducting component forming a leading edge glove and a cover for protecting the blade tip across its entire chord. Mechanical means, such as screws and rivets, with protruding shapes, fix the cover on the composite structure of the blade, in addition to some gluing, possibly conductive gluing, and are earthed by the cover, forming points where the lightning can enter or exit, protecting the surrounding composite structure of the blade against damage. At least the cover may have a suction face arm and a pressure face arm of different dimensions, at least in the direction of the span. When the blade is mounted on a member for linking to the hub, electrical continuity with this member and the hub is provided.
