  • Patent number: 11693737
Abstract: A technique provides efficient data protection, such as erasure coding, for data blocks of volumes served by storage nodes of a cluster. Data blocks associated with write requests of unpredictable client workload patterns may be compressed. A set of the compressed data blocks may be selected to form a write group and an erasure code may be applied to the group to algorithmically generate one or more encoded blocks in addition to the data blocks. Due to the unpredictability of the data workload patterns, the compressed data blocks may have varying sizes. A pool of the various-sized compressed data blocks may be established and maintained from which the data blocks of the write group are selected. Establishment and maintenance of the pool enables selection of compressed data blocks that are substantially close to the same size and, thus, that require minimal padding.

  • Patent number: 11695909
Abstract: A method for obtaining a three-dimensional model of an inspection site, using a perception module, is disclosed. The perception module comprises a detection unit, e.g. comprising one or more cameras and/or a three-dimensional laser scanner, configured to obtain a three-dimensional image. At least one three-dimensional image is obtained by means of the detection unit. A three-dimensional model of surroundings of the perception module is created, based on the obtained three-dimensional image. The created three-dimensional model and a plan of the inspection site are compared and features of the created three-dimensional model and features of the plan of the inspection site are matched. A site-specific three-dimensional model of the inspection site is formed, based on the created three-dimensional model and the plan of the inspection site, and based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20230141824
Abstract: A compact electronic device has a touch sensor and/or a microphone that are concealed within a housing at least partially wrapped by an acoustically porous cover. In some implementations, the touch sensor includes a sensing portion and a contact portion extending from the sensing portion. While the sensing portion is placed in proximity to an interior surface of the housing to detect a touch on the housing, the contact portion is bent to electrically couple the sensing portion to a circuit board via two distinct electrical paths. In some implementations, an exterior surface of the housing includes a sealing area surrounding an aperture on the housing, and the acoustically porous cover is affixed to the sealing area via an adhesive. The adhesive covers the sealing area and permeates a thickness of the acoustically porous cover, thereby enabling formation of a controlled sound path to access the microphone via the aperture.

  • Patent number: 11551660
Abstract: Techniques are described in which sensor data is used to determine one or more of background noise or occupancy associated with a passenger cabin of a vehicle. The sensor data, in turn, is used to determine an operating state for one or more components of the vehicle (e.g., pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, etc.) such that an amount of background noise within the passenger cabin is reduced (e.g., when a passenger/occupant is present). In various examples, the operating state of the component may operate in a different, though louder, state (e.g., higher efficiency, greater power, etc.) when an occupant is not present or proximate the component.
