  • Publication number: 20130317786
Abstract: A feature-based rapid modeling system that enables a user to construct structural feature models from feature objects representing structural features. The interface enables the rapid construction by allowing for the use of group- and pattern-based feature objects, and by allowing a user to select feature objects based on object properties and object relationship properties, including hierarchical properties. A modeling engine constructs member models based on the feature models, which can be exported to a structure library. The models in the structure library can be imported into new projects, eliminating the need to repeat the construction of the model.

  • Publication number: 20130269662
Abstract: A method and device for monitoring errors in an exhaust gas recirculation line, including supplying an engine with fresh air via a supply duct using a compressor, discharging exhaust gas via an exhaust duct using a gas turbine, a subflow of the gas being supplied from a low-pressure area of the exhaust duct downstream from the turbine, via the recirculation line, to an intake air low-pressure area of the supply duct upstream from the compressor, an exhaust gas mass flow of the subflow in the recirculation line is set via a valve, a fresh air mass flow being set by a fresh air throttle, or via an exhaust flap in the exhaust duct. Where the fresh air throttle or the exhaust flap is opened when the recirculation line is free of errors, an error in the recirculation line is deduced if the throttle or flap is at least partially closed.

  • Publication number: 20130035904
Abstract: Systems and methods for leveraging a preliminary plant model to create a detailed physical plant model are presented. The system stores instances of component primitives, and can utilize stored geometries of the component primitives to identify a plurality of physical components to form a physical plant model. The physical plant model can realize at least a portion of the component runs based on equations and mapping definitions that establish relationships among the geometries of the equipment and piping. The components of the physical plant model can be mapped to catalog items based on the geometries of the components. After translation, a bill of materials listing the physical plant model components can be produced.
