  • Patent number: 9710610
Abstract: An enteral fluid delivery system includes a pump having a motor coupled to a rotor configured to accept a portion of a tubing of a feeding set. The motor drives the rotor, which compresses the tubing to deliver to a patient enteral fluid during a feeding cycle. The system includes a user interface that is operatively connected to a memory that stores a plurality of types of enteral fluids. The user interface enables a user to select at least one type of enteral fluid. The system also includes a processor that is operatively connected to the pump. The processor adjusts the flow rate of the pump to deliver the selected enteral fluid for delivery based on one or more characteristics of the feeding fluid such as the viscosity or the caloric content.

  • Publication number: 20070268954
Abstract: A portable test apparatus for testing the accuracy of a radiation-sensing thermometer. The portable test apparatus comprises a target adapted to be maintained at a target temperature for sensing by the radiation-sensing thermometer. The apparatus also comprises a communication link adapted to receive temperature-sensing information from the radiation-sensing thermometer. The apparatus also comprises a processor adapted to analyze the received temperature-sensing information and to provide an indication to a user about whether the thermometer is functioning properly.

  • Patent number: 5441759
Abstract: A medical device is coated with a solution of TDMAC heparin and then allowed to air dry. Thereafter, the coated medical device is exposed to gamma ray radiation. The gamma radiation strengthens the bond of the TDMAC to the material of the medical device. In a variation of this method, TDMAC heparin coated and gamma ray irradiated medical device is heated for an extended period of time. This heating has been found to further strengthen the bond of the TDMAC heparin to the medical device.

  • Patent number: 4673161
Abstract: A tube clamping device is provided which includes a pair of arms with tube clamping means thereon which are movable from an open position to a latched, closed clamping position in which the clamping means effects occlusion of a tube passing through the clamp. Each arm has a slot extending into the sidewall of the arm so that the tube can be laterally inserted and removed from the clamping device. A protective flexible sleeve provided with a slit for easy insertion onto the tube can be used to receive the clamping forces of the clamp to protect the tube.
