  • Publication number: 20210318100
Abstract: A rifle scope having an eyepiece and a reticle, and wherein the reticle when viewed through the eyepiece displays. A horizontal center line is at the vertical center of the display, and below the horizontal center line there is a set aiming lines, each marked by a first indicium on a first horizontal side of the aiming line, indicating an angle measured in minutes of angle, from the horizontal center line. Finally, a subset of the aiming lines are marked with a second indicium, on a second horizontal side, opposed to the first horizontal side, of the aiming line, and wherein each the second indicium indicates distance in inches from the brisket to the top of the shoulders of a type of deer.

  • Patent number: 11041694
Abstract: A method of creating a rifle and scope assembly, that begins with selecting and providing a rifle having a caliber and barrel length and providing a selection of rifle scopes, wherein each one is matched to a caliber and barrel length. Then, a rifle scope that matches the caliber and barrel length of the rifle is selected from the selection of rifle scopes. The rifle scope is attached to the rifle. Then, a cartridge type is selected to be used in the rifle. A range to zero the rifle scope is selected, based on caliber, barrel length and cartridge type. The final step is zeroing the rifle scope to the selected range.

  • Patent number: 10976135
Abstract: A rifle and rifle scope assembly, including a rifle and a rifle scope housing, attached to the rifle, the housing defining an eyepiece. An optical train is supported in the housing and includes a reticle lens. The reticle is arranged so that when a user looks through the eyepiece, the reticle lens presents a display having a set of vertical bars of different heights, wherein the height of each vertical bar corresponds to the vertical space on the reticle of a target of a known height and at a first known range. Further, a numeral adjacent to each vertical bar, provides the height in units of length, of a target that will appear as being the same height as the vertical bar, when viewed through the scope, if the target is at the known distance.

  • Patent number: 10302395
Abstract: An assembly includes a rifle and a rifle scope housing, defining an eyepiece. An optical train includes a reticle. When a user looks through the eyepiece, a display is presented having a set of first horizontal lines, each marked by an indicium and a set of second horizontal lines, each marked by an indicium. A pair formed of a first and a second horizontal line is spaced apart by a distance that fits an adult black-tail buck from back to the brisket if the buck is at a range that results in a bullet drop. The first horizontal lines is labeled with a first indicium. Also, a set of marks includes a first mark which will, if placed on a target, result in an elevation angle, relative to the target, that will compensate for the bullet drop, and wherein the first mark is also marked with the indicium.

  • Patent number: 9683823
Abstract: The present invention provides a device and method for improved, repeatable, consistent, rapid, and accurate measurements of a bullet using a dial indicator. The bullet comparator of the present invention consists of a fixture block having a V-shaped groove running along a long axis of the block and a dial indicator coupled to one end of the fixture, configured so its probe operably moves toward the center of the fixture. A stop block adjustably positions in the V-shaped grove of the fixture. And, at least one floating chamber selectively positions in the V-shaped grove of the fixture. The floating chamber is a cylindrical body defining an interior chamber; the interior chamber has a first ring-contact and at least a second ring-contact on an interior portion of the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20150253104
Abstract: The present invention improves leveling of accessories mounted on a rail on a firearm. The improved rail includes a level housing configured at a proximal end of a Picatinny Rail. The level housing compress a generally rectilinear body having a viewing window configured on a front edge of the body. The body defines a volume adapted to receive a spirit level. The volume further includes a back wall arranged at substantially about 45-degrees incident to a viewing plane. The housing further includes an undersized opening on a first sidewall, which is configured to restrict the level from escaping the volume. A second sidewall arranged substantially parallel to the first sidewall includes an oversized opening further configured to slideably receive the spirit level, which is retained in place by a lock-ring.

  • Patent number: 9127919
Abstract: A system for reloading a cartridge including seating a primer in the cartridge for use in a predetermined firing chamber includes at least one reloading die and reloading shim adapted to selectively insert into the chamber. A desired seating depth is determined and an offset factor is determined using a primer pocket depth, a primer height, and the seating depth. This calculated dimension is transferred to a primer-seating press. The primer-seating press includes an arm hingeably configured to operate in a first position, a second position, and a third position; a cross pin configures on the press horizontally and selectively slides from a retracted position to an extended position and an adjustable stop disposed on the arm. The stop is pre-set to using the calculated dimension to limit travel of the arm by cooperating with the cross pin. The seating press includes a vertically arranged piston operated by the arm.

  • Publication number: 20150226429
Abstract: A directional fire-starting device includes a two-chambered housing. A first chamber houses a flint material and includes an open end and a slot in the sidewall. A striker is configured to strike the flint material by selectively inserting through the slot. Spark from the striker traveling across the flint is purposely directed to the open end ensuring a predictable path for the spark. A second, weather-tight chamber arranges at a second open end and the second chamber is configured to store tinder material.

  • Patent number: 8387300
Abstract: A method of attaching a rifle scope, having a windage knob, to a rifle having a rifle bore and that utilizes a scope mount having a top rail adapted to receive a scope at a predetermined orientation. The scope mount is attached to the rifle in a first manner, permitting adjustment of azimuth angle of the top rail relative to the rifle bore. Then a scope is attached to the scope mount and the error of the scope azimuth angle with respect to initial bullet direction is estimated. The azimuth angle of top rail relative to the rifle is adjusted by the azimuth angle error and the mounting of the scope to the rifle is finalized, thereby creating a rigid attachment.

  • Patent number: 8316571
Abstract: A method of installing a rifle scope to a rifle such that when the rifle is transversely level, the vertical line of the scope reticle is aligned with the direction of bullet drop. The method uses a mounting facilitating fixture having a rifle vice and a rifle vice transverse orientation adjustment device. First, the rifle is clamped into the rifle vice and the rifle vice transverse orientation adjustment device is adjusted until the rifle is transversely level. Then, while the rifle is still held in a transversely level position in the rifle vice, a scope having a vertical line in the reticle is connected to the rifle so that the vertical line is plumb in relation to the Earth. Because both the direction of bullet drop and the vertical line of the scope reticle are aligned with gravity, they are aligned with each other.
