  • Patent number: 11753190
Abstract: An apparatus configured to provide portioned instances of a compressible material includes a channel assembly, a gas source, a cutting assembly, and a discharge assembly. The channel assembly holds a bulk instance of the material extending through upper and lower channels of a continuous channel. The gas source supplies gas to compress the bulk instance. The cutting assembly moves in relation to the channel assembly to isolate the upper and lower channels, severing upper and lower material portions of the bulk instance. The discharge assembly directs gas to impinge on a lower face of the cutting assembly to discharge the lower material portion as a portioned instance. The channel assembly may be moveable, where operation of the gas source, cutting assembly, and/or discharge assembly are based on moving the channel assembly between various positions. The gas supply may be controlled based on a determined property of the portioned instance.

  • Publication number: 20230278423
Abstract: A glass article for a vehicle interior system (10). The glass article includes a glass sheet having first and second major surfaces with a minor surface connecting the first and second major surfaces. The glass sheet has a first side and a second side. A hinge is disposed on the second major surface of the glass sheet. The hinge divides the glass sheet between the first side and the second side. An encapsulating material is molded at least partially around the minor surface and at least partially over the second major surface. The second side of the glass sheet rotates about the hinge from a first configuration to a second configuration. In the first configuration, the first side forms a first angle with the second side, and in the second configuration, the first side forms a second angle, different from the first angle, with the second side.

  • Patent number: 11740815
Abstract: A method for dispatching input-output in a system. The system may include a centralized processing circuit, a plurality of persistent storage targets, a first input-output processor, and a second input-output processor. The method may include determining whether the first input-output processor is connected to a first target of the plurality of persistent storage targets; determining whether the second input-output processor is connected to the first target; and in response to determining that both the first input-output processor is connected to the first target, and the second input-output processor is connected to the first target, dispatching a first plurality of input-output requests, each to either the first input-output processor or the second input-output processor, the dispatching being in proportion to a service rate of the first input-output processor to the first target and a service rate of the second input-output processor to the first target, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20230264377
Abstract: An apparatus includes channel assemblies in a rotatable section, a cutting assembly, a discharge assembly, and a cleanout assembly. The channel assembly holds a bulk instance of compressible material extending through upper and lower channels of a continuous channel. The cutting assembly moves in relation to the channel assembly to isolate the upper and lower channels, severing upper and lower material portions of the bulk instance. The discharge assembly directs gas into the lower channel of a channel assembly to discharge the lower material portion from the lower channel, based on radial alignment of a conduit assembly of the channel assembly with a conduit assembly of the discharge assembly. The cleanout assembly supplies a fluid through the conduit assembly of the channel assembly, based on radially alignment of the conduit assembly of the channel assembly with a conduit assembly of the cleanout assembly.

  • Publication number: 20230257149
Abstract: A cleaner assembly for an apparatus for making pouch products includes a cleaner roller and a poker roller. The cleaner roller may counter rotate with a rotatable drum of the apparatus, in contact with an upper surface of a first elastic layer on the rotatable drum, and at a greater tangential speed than at least one surface of an outer circumferential surface of the rotatable drum or an upper surface of the first elastic layer. The poker roller includes projections that are each configured to extend into one or more divots of the rotatable drum. The poker roller may counter rotate with the rotatable drum and at a same tangential speed as the at least one surface such that the projections extend into and out of separate, respective divots of the rotatable drum based on the counter rotation of the poker roller and the rotatable drum.

  • Publication number: 20230206142
Abstract: The invention provides an open platform for thought leaders and influencers to collaborate, curate, manage, promote, share and amplify their expertise over a communications network, such as the Internet. The thought leaders are evaluated across multiple dimensions of their roles or personas as an academic, author, entrepreneur, inventor, influencer and/or speaker, as well as in various functional domains. The rating and ranking is achieved by curating, measuring and analyzing their published thought leadership content portfolio across the Internet via a points-based system. Further, the invention provides business entities and service providers ways to both find and work with the world’s top thought leaders, and identify, manage and amplify their own thought leaders.

  • Patent number: 11680616
Abstract: Some embodiments relate to an electro-mechanical actuator that includes a screw, structurally segregated (split) housings, first and second nuts coupled to the screw, a sensor assembly, a plurality of motors, and a controller. The first nut is coupled to a first mounting point, and the second nut is coupled to a second mounting point. The sensor assembly may generate signals indicative of (e.g., relative) positions of left and right units of the actuator or positions of the first nut and the second nut on the screw. The controller controls the motors based on the signals generated by the sensor assembly. The motors may rotate each nut about a screw axis of the screw. This rotation results in one or both nuts moving along the screw. Movement between the first nut and the second nut along the screw adjusts a distance between the first mounting point and the second mounting point.

  • Publication number: 20230166770
Abstract: Four-wheel steering of a vehicle, e.g., in which leading wheels and trailing wheels are steered independently of each other, can provide improved maneuverability and stability. A first vehicle model may be used to determine trajectories for execution by a vehicle equipped with four-wheel steering. A second vehicle model may be used to control the vehicle relative to the determined trajectories. For instance, the second vehicle model can determine leading wheels steering angles for steering leading wheels of the vehicle and trailing wheels steering angles for steering trailing wheels of the vehicle, independently of the leading wheels.
