Patent number: 7302313Abstract: An air monitoring system is disclosed having an air monitoring unit with at least one sensor for measuring data of an air quality parameter and a computer for storing the air quality parameter data received from the sensor. The air monitoring unit may use an installed or a portable system, or a combination of both, for measuring the air quality parameters of interest. A remote data center may be provided, and the data may be uploaded to the data center from the unit by a communications media such as the Internet. Information or instructions may also be downloaded from the data center to the unit via the communications media for controlling or modifying the function of the unit. An expert system may be provided with the air monitoring system for controlling the unit. The information or instructions downloaded to the unit may be generated by the expert system.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2001Date of Patent: November 27, 2007Assignee: Aircuity, Inc.Inventors: Gordon P. Sharp, Jeffrey P. Schwartz, David J. Buzzeo, Eric M. Desrochers, David L. Farrington

Patent number: 6230594Abstract: The present invention is a power-operated screwdriving device configured to be used with a rotary power source and a supply of collated screws. The device comprises a housing structure and a feeding assembly defines a drive track carried by the housing and providing a workpiece engaging surface. The drive track is configured to receive a lead screw from the supply. A rotatable screw engaging bit member is constructed and arranged to be operatively connected to the rotary power source such that the rotary power source rotates the screw engaging bit member during a screwdriving operation. The rotatable screw engaging bit member is movable relative to the drive track and the workpiece engaging surface such that, when the workpiece engaging surface is engaged with the surface of the workpiece, rotation of the bit member and relative movement between the bit member and the drive track drives the lead screw into the workpiece during the screwdriving operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1998Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Assignee: Stanley Fastening Systems, L.P.Inventors: David B. Jalbert, David J. Buzzeo, James A. Russell

Patent number: 6186035Abstract: The present invention is a screwdriving device configured to be used with a rotary power source and a screw collation supply. A feeding assembly defines a drive track and a rotatable screw engaging bit member is operatively connected with a rotary power source. The bit member is engageable with the lead screw and movable relative to the drive track to drive the lead screw into the workpiece. The feeding assembly is constructed and arranged to move a subsequent lead screw from the screw collation supply into the drive track. The feeding assembly includes a screw feeding structure movable between (1) a lead screw engaged position and (2) a subsequent lead screw engaging position. The feeding assembly includes a biasing element engaged with the screw feeding structure.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1998Date of Patent: February 13, 2001Assignee: Stanley Fastening Systems, L.P.Inventors: David B. Jalbert, David J. Buzzeo, James A. Russell

Patent number: 6170366Abstract: The present invention is a power-operated screwdriving device configured to be used with a rotary power source and a supply of screws. The screwdriving device comprises a housing structure constructed and arranged to be engaged with the rotary power source. Structure defines a drive track constructed and arranged to receive a lead screw from the supply of screws. A rotatable screw engaging bit member is constructed and arranged to be engaged with the lead screw from the supply of screws during a screwdriving operation wherein the lead screw is driven into a workpiece. A releasable bit locking assembly is disposed in the housing and constructed and arranged to operatively connect the bit member to the rotary power source to enable the rotary power source to rotate the bit member during the screwdriving operation. The releasable bit locking assembly includes bit locking structure constructed and arranged to lockingly engage the bit member.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1998Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Assignee: Stanley Fastening Systems, L.P.Inventors: David B. Jalbert, David J. Buzzeo, Charles W. Hewitt

Patent number: 6138535Abstract: The present invention is a power-operated screwdriving device configured to be used with a rotary power source and a supply of screws releasably mounted on a severable collation. The screwdriving device comprises a housing structure constructed and arranged to be engaged with the rotary power source. Structure defines a drive track constructed and arranged to receive a lead screw releasably mounted on the severable collation. A rotatable screw engaging bit member is constructed and arranged to be operatively connected with the rotary power source such that the rotary power source can rotate the screw engaging bit member. The screw engaging bit member is engageable with the lead screw and movable relative to the drive track such that rotation of the screw engaging bit member and relative movement between the screw engaging bit member and the drive track separates the lead screw from the severable collation and drives the lead screw from the drive track into a workpiece during a screwdriving operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Stanley Fastening Systems, L.P.Inventors: David B. Jalbert, David J. Buzzeo, James A. Russell

Patent number: 5392689Abstract: A recoil mechanism used to return the slide of a semi-automatic handgun back to its battery position after firing is provided having a recoil spring, a rod member and a discrete flange member. The rod and the flange member each of polymeric material have a flange at one end thereof which retain the recoil spring disposed therebetween. The recoil mechanism is assembled by coaxially fitting the recoil spring onto the rod and then snap fitting the flange member onto the one end of the rod.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1994Date of Patent: February 28, 1995Assignee: Smith & Wesson Corp.Inventors: David J. Buzzeo, Milton W. Erickson
