Patent number: 8670374Abstract: A wireless mesh network with dynamic back off for reduced power consumption is generally described herein. In some embodiments, the wireless mesh network includes a network controller to configure a data frame comprising a sync period followed by at least one data period and a plurality of network nodes configured to operate in at least one of a network-running mode and a sleep/RF quiet mode. The network controller is configured to transmit synchronization messages during a first portion of the sync period and receive upstream requests from the network nodes during a second portion of the sync period. During the sleep/RF quiet mode, the network nodes are configured to wake up periodically during a listening interval for detection of a synchronization message from the network controller, and return to the sleep/RF quiet mode and increase a back-off time between listening intervals for increasingly longer periods when no synchronization message is detected.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2012Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Raytheon CompanyInventors: Anthony Paul Bata, Kenneth Ray Crismon, David Kramer, Randy Lyle Engle

Patent number: 8638800Abstract: Techniques have been developed to facilitate evaluation of match and hash rule entries in ways that allow an implementation to decouple (i) the order in which match rules are applied to a first subset of packet header fields from (ii) the ordering of a second subset of packet header fields over which a non-commutative hash is computed. In short, the set and ordering of fields evaluated in accordance with a precedence order of rules need not correspond to the set or ordering of fields over which a hash is computed in a communications controller.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2009Date of Patent: January 28, 2014Assignee: Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.Inventors: David Kramer, Kun Xu

Patent number: 8566179Abstract: A method of presenting real estate data is provided. A plurality of property listings can be presented, and a selection of one of the presented property listings may be received from a user. The user may be associated with a financial profile, which may be specified via user input. In response to receiving the selection by the user, at least one loan offer corresponding to the property listing may be automatically presented, for example, together with the property listing. The loan offer may be at least partially based on the financial profile, and may also be based on a property corresponding to the selected property listing. For example, the property listing and the financial profile may be automatically transmitted to one or more loan providers in response to receiving the selection by the user of the property listing, and in response loan offers may be received from some of the loan providers.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2009Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Move, Inc.Inventors: Todd Andrew Callow, Sumeet Bhatia, Duke Tsao-Ming Fan, David Kramer, Bruce Mitchell, Vaughan Allan Smith, Susan Stewart, Clifton Ray Williams

Patent number: 8149748Abstract: A meshing network comprising one full function controller (WDC) and a plurality of nodes (WDN, WSN), that is RF quiet capable with very low power consumption and the ability to quickly heal itself and create new network paths. The network uses an addressing scheme that allows for each node to not have a network map but still be able to route messages. A piping scheme allows a mesh to become a high throughput network. A sensor rail protocol definition allows sensor devices to connect to nodes and route messages through the network.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2007Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Raytheon CompanyInventors: Anthony Paul Bata, Kenneth Ray Crismon, David Kramer, Randy Lyle Engle

Patent number: 7894440Abstract: Techniques have been developed to facilitate concurrent evaluation of hash rule entries in ways that allow an implementation to maintain a deterministic resultant hash irrespective of variations in the allocation of particular rules to particular storage banks or evaluation logic, such as may occur with rule set revisions. Similarly, uniform deterministic hash results can be assured even across a range of implementations that support greater or lesser levels of concurrent rule evaluations.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2009Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.Inventors: Kun Xu, David Kramer

Publication number: 20100322305Abstract: Image data to be compressed is first converted from the RGB domain into a gamma-powered YUV domain. A wavelet transform then separates image data into high- and low-detail sectors, incorporating a dynamic scaling method, allowing for optimal resolution. The output data from the wavelet transform is then quantized according to an entropy-prediction algorithm that tightly controls the final size of the processed image. An adaptive Golomb engine compresses the data using an adaptive form of Golomb encoding in which mean values are variable across the data. Using variable mean values reduces the deleterious effects found in conventional Golomb encoding in which localized regions of similar data are inefficiently coded if their bit values are uncommon in the data as a whole. Inverse functions are applied to uncompress the image, and a fractal dithering engine can additionally be applied to display an image on a display of lower color depth.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2010Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: APPLE INC.Inventors: Richard Eugene Crandall, Evan T. Jones, Jason Klivington, David A. Kramer
