  • Publication number: 20210309455
Abstract: A container suitable for receiving, storing and disposing of food scraps and waste comprises a bowl with matching lid. The lid, embodiments of which are planar, has two tabs that may be bent perpendicularly to engage corresponding slots in the bowl. The bowl has an annular expansion to receive and further retain the circumference of the lid. Embodiments fashion the tabs so that, when the lid is in place with the tabs protruding through the slots in the bowl, the tabs may be further bent upright around the rim of the bowl, further to secure the lid and retain material within the container.

  • Publication number: 20160249640
Abstract: Whole milk and at least one additional nutrient source are mixed to reach an admixture of about 10 to about 17 percent total solids on a dry matter basis, where about 20 to about 26 percent of the total solids is protein, and where about 16 to about 25 percent of the total solids is fat. The admixture and a starter feed are fed to one or more young animals so that they receive at least 0.75 lbs. of total solids on a dry matter basis per day from the admixture. In response to ingesting the admixture, starter feed intake is increased and improved performance results. The level of the additional nutrient source(s) in the admixture may be calculated based on a compositional analysis of the available whole milk and a dietary target for the young animals. The compositional analysis may be performed at the location where the young animals are fed.

Abstract: An undergarment for accommodating an external medical device is provided. The undergarment includes a front portion, a rear portion; a crotch portion, a waist opening; at least two leg openings, and at least one pocket defined by at least one piece of fabric secured to the front portion upon an exterior of the undergarment. At least one opening is provided between the piece of fabric and the front portion, and at least one aperture is located in proximity to a corner formed near to upper border and an inner side border of one pocket. The at least one pocket is positioned at the front portion of the undergarment in a slanted fashion. A lower border of the pocket forms an angle of between about 15 and about 30 degrees with respect to a horizontal line extended across the undergarment and, preferably, an angle of about 22 degrees.

  • Patent number: 6778698
Abstract: An image segmenter uses one or more techniques to accurately segment an image, including the use of a progressive flood fill to fill incompletely bounded segments, the use of a plurality of scaled transformations and guiding segmentation at one scale with segmentation results from another scale, detecting edges using a composite image that is a composite of multiple color planes, generating edge chains using multiple classes of edge pixels, generating edge chains using the plurality of scaled transformations, and/or filtering spurious edges at one scale based on edges detected at another scale.

  • Patent number: 5997500
Abstract: A pneumatically operated veterinary medicinal pellet implanter utilizes pressurized air to drive an impeller for dispensing medicinal pellets through a needle on an end of the implanter and into a cavity created by the needle under the skin of an animal to be treated. The pressurized air source may also be utilized to retract the impeller after dispensing of the pellets. The impeller is part of a piston slidingly secured within a pneumatic cylinder. Pressurized air is selectively and alternatingly supplied to the front and rear and rear of the cylinder for advancing the impeller between retracted and extended positions respectively. The pressure of the air supplied to the rear of the cylinder for driving the impeller is reduced relative to the pressure of the air supplied to the front of the cylinder for retracting the impeller.

  • Patent number: 5517165
Abstract: A switch mechanism opens a contact set in the event of an electrical fault condition. The mechanism involves a contact lever biased by a spring for pivoting about one or other of two fulcrums to open or close the contacts respectively. The fault condition results in an out of balance current flow which causes a solenoid to release a plunger initiating operation about a fixed fulcrum to open the contacts. A reset device is used manually to initiate operation about a movable fulcrum to reclose the contact set, provided the fault condition has been removed. An arm is deflected by the plunger to shift the movable fulcrum and also acts to restore the plunger as the mechanism is tripped. The switch mechanism may be incorporated in a residual current device (ground fault circuit interrupter) which provides a detection circuit to trip the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5457444
Abstract: A switch mechanism opens a contact set in the event of an undervoltage condition. The mechanism involves a lever assembly biased by a spring for pivoting about one or other of two fulcrums to open or close the contacts respectively. The undervoltage causes a solenoid to release a plunger which initiates operation about a fixed fulcrum. A reset device is used manually to initiate operation about a movable fulcrum, provided that the voltage is sufficient. An arm is deflected by the plunger to shift the movable fulcrum and also acts to restore the plunger during reset. The switch mechanism may be incorporated in a residual current device which provides the undervoltage condition on detecting an electrical fault.

  • Patent number: 4612603
Abstract: An assembly of an appliance and a bracket including a unique arrangement for locking the appliance and bracket together. Either the appliance or the bracket includes a male engaging member, and the other one of these elements includes a frame forming a female recess for receiving that male engaging member. The element that includes the frame also includes a locking ledge extending into the female recess to selectively engage the male engaging member and hold the appliance locked to the bracket, a releasing member extending through an aperture in the frame to push the male engaging member away from the ledge and unlock the appliance from the bracket, and a spring connecting the releasing member to the frame and biasing the releasing member away from the male engaging member.
