Patent number: 7950186Abstract: A vehicle seal assembly incorporates an integrated attachment feature to secure a flexible seal to closely spaced inner and outer body panels joined along a flange region. First and second spaced openings are aligned in a direction extending from the flange region. The seal assembly includes a generally planar portion having a finger secured at one end and extending outwardly in a generally parallel direction to the planar portion. The finger extends through the first opening and directs the seal assembly as the seal assembly is advanced toward the second opening where a retaining member snap fits therethrough for retaining the weatherstrip to the body panel.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2006Date of Patent: May 31, 2011Assignee: Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc.Inventors: David M. Gross, Alan Peth, Mark Faunce

Patent number: 7890562Abstract: An automatic test system that includes low cost and accurate circuitry for generating sinusoidal signals. Each sinusoidal signal generator includes a look-up table that can, for each phase on sine wave, output two digital values representing an in-phase and a quadrature-phase value of the sine wave. Simple circuitry can be used to address the look-up table to output in-phase and quadrature-phase values. The in-phase and quadrature-phase values can be applied to down-stream circuitry, such as error correction circuitry, that uses an in-phase and a quadrature-phase value to process the sine wave without the need for a relatively complex phase shifter in the down-stream circuitry. A dual-port memory may be used to implement the look-up table so that both an in-phase and a quadrature-phase value may be obtained from a single block of memory that stores a representation of a sine wave.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2006Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignee: Teradyne, Inc.Inventors: David M. Gross, William Scott McDonald

Patent number: 7726075Abstract: A molded weather seal includes groups of fingers extending inwardly from walls that receive an associated vehicle flange therebetween. Fingers and walls are preferably formed of a first shot of molded material that is generally rigid, while a seal lip and/or other selected portions may be formed from a second, more flexible material.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2006Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc.Inventors: David M. Gross, Riaz Mohammed

Patent number: 4871989Abstract: A manual actuation mechanism for a solenoid having a plunger with one end connected to an external apparatus, such as a diesel engine fuel pump energization of the solenoid coil drives the plunger axially from an initial position to an actuation position. The manual actuation mechanism comprises a retraction rod that extends axially through the solenoid and is movable from a normal position disengaged from the plunger to a retraction position; in moving to its retraction position the rod drives the plunger to its actuated position, simulating energization of the coil. The manual actuation mechanism further includes a retainer comprising a spring clamp mounted on the housing and projecting into firm, resilient gripping engagement with the rotary actuator to preclude vibrational or other incidental rotation of the actuator regardless of its position. The spring clamp also serves as a strain relief for electrical connections to the solenoid.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1988Date of Patent: October 3, 1989Assignee: Synchro-Start Products, Inc.Inventor: David M.
