Abstract: A slitter-type envelope opener has two portions which are manufactured separately and later joined together—namely, a cutting portion and a handle portion. The cutting portion has a molded base, a spear and a connecting segment joining the base and spear such that a slot exists between them. At its one end the slot is open, while the other end is closed at the connecting segment. Here the cutting portion is provided with a blade that is embedded in the spear and connecting segment. The handle portion has a molded base and a gripping portion, with the gripping portion being configured in a desired shape and perhaps sculpted in relief. The bases of the two portions have rabbets, with the base of the handle portion fitting into the rabbet in the base in the cutting portion and the base of the cutting portion fitting into the rabbet in the base of the handle portion. Here the two portions are joined permanently together.

Abstract: The present invention provides an economical process for forming a plastic integral product having a protected advertising surface and the resulting product which contains an indicia or imprint which is completely protected from the possibility of damage. The product has an interior liner and an exterior integral transparent or translucent layer to allow unimpeded viewing of any imprint placed on the exterior of the liner. Furthermore, the product provides an attractive, completely integral product having a protected advertising surface. An example of the integral product is in the form of a tumbler, a mug, a cup, a coaster, a coin dish or the like.

Abstract: A holder for supporting light objects, such as papers, on a ferrous metal surface and for further displaying a business card prominently in front of the surface, includes a clip having spring loaded legs which open to receive the object and close upon the object to retain it. One of the legs contains a magnet which holds the clip against the metal surface. The other leg has a carrier attached to it. The carrier includes a backing panel having a pocket which opens away from the clip and is configured to receive a business card. It also includes a transparent cover panel which overlies the pocket and protects the business card.

Abstract: A beverage mug includes a vessel having an enlarged base and a neck which rises to a mouth surrounded by a rim. The mouth is normally covered by a closure that includes a lid and a sipping liner. The lid fits over and engages a sipping liner, but the liner may be detached from the lid and installed separately in the mouth of the vessel. The sipping liner has a cross wall that lies within the mouth of the vessel below the rim and thereby prevents the beverage from splashing out of the mouth, but the cross wall contains an aperture to enable one to take a beverage from the vessel in sips. The lid is fitted to the liner while the liner is on the mouth of the vessel simply by placing the lid over the liner and pressing downwardly.
