  • Patent number: 10536854
Abstract: In order to facilitate access to multiple networks, an electronic device may first authorize a portable electronic device to access a radio-access network associated with a network operator. In particular, the electronic device may provide a request with a first identifier for a portable electronic device to an authentication/authorization server for access to the radio-access network. After receiving first authorization information from the authentication/authorization server for the portable electronic device to access the radio-access network, the electronic device may provide a second request with a second identifier of the portable electronic device to a second server for access to a second network associated with the second server and an entity. Based on the subsequent response from the second server, the electronic device may provide access information to a radio node that allows the portable electronic device to access the radio-access network, or radio-access network and the second network.

  • Patent number: 10237756
Abstract: In one embodiment, a neighbor access point list is obtained. Statistics are maintained for a current access point that a client is currently associated with, including previous access points previous clients have roamed from prior to associating with the current access point, and next access points the previous clients associated with. The neighbor access point list for the client is optimized, by determining one or more previous clients that associated with a same previous access point as the client and prioritizing access points in the optimized neighbor access point list, based on the next access points the one or more previous clients associated with. The optimized neighbor access point list is sent to the client.

  • Patent number: 8705388
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method for determining backhaul channel assignments for multi-channel dual radio mesh nodes. The method comprises acquiring collision domain data for each access point of an associated mesh network. A cost function is calculated for each access point of the associated mesh network, the cost function assigning a weighted value for each access point in a collision domain based on a number of access points in the collision domain. Backhaul channel assignments for selected for each access point that minimizes the cost function.

  • Patent number: 8559306
Abstract: A packet aggregation system. In particular implementations, a method includes accessing one or more transmit queues, each corresponding to a wireless client associated with a given wireless mesh access point of a plurality of mesh access points. The method further includes selecting a mesh access point of the plurality of mesh access points and selecting a transmit queue corresponding to a wireless client associated with the selected mesh access point. The method further includes aggregating packets that are destined for the selected wireless client, up to a size limit, taking into account the path to the selected mesh point as well as quality of service constraints, and composing and transmitting the aggregated packet to the selected mesh access point.
