  • Publication number: 20190309600
Abstract: A flotation device for a wellbore tubular has a flotation disk having a tapered exterior profile. A maximum external diameter of the flotation disk is such to enable free longitudinal movement within the wellbore tubular. A plurality of locking segments each has a tapered interior profile cooperatively engageable with the tapered exterior profile. Each locking segment has gripping elements on an exterior surface thereof to engage an inner wall of the wellbore tubular. The tapered exterior profile and the tapered interior profile cooperate to expand a diameter of the locking segments as profile engagement increases.

  • Publication number: 20190107461
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for measuring a dynamic response of a machine. The system includes a vibration mechanism, an accelerometer, a controller and a casing. The vibration mechanism is operable to generate an excitation signal, and the accelerometer is operable to measure dynamic energy in response to the excitation signal and output a dynamic response signal indicative of the dynamic energy. The controller includes a communication interface and operates the vibration mechanism to output the excitation signal and transmit a vibration input signal based on the excitation signal by way of the communication interface. The casing houses the vibration mechanism and the controller.

  • Publication number: 20180176101
Abstract: A network access device for facilitating the troubleshooting of network connectivity problems on a directly connected client device is provided. In one embodiment, the network access device can receive, from the client device, a request directed to a preconfigured web address associated with the network access device. In response to the request, the network access device can generate a web page comprising a ticket number for the client device and a link or form element for submitting a support request and can transmit the web page to the client device. The network access device can subsequently receive a submission of the support request from the client device. In response to the submission, the network access device can automatically collect diagnostic information pertaining to the client device. The network access device can then transmit the diagnostic information and the ticket number to one or more remote servers.

  • Patent number: 9236928
Abstract: An apparatus and method for operating a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)-capable subscriber node are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a MIMO-capable physical layer transceiver and a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer block that measures a received transmission to determine channel conditions. Upon receiving a transmission wherein said channel conditions meet specified conditions, the MAC layer block transmits a message to an access point indicating that the apparatus wants to switch between a non-MIMO mode and a MIMO mode, and upon receiving an acknowledgement, the MAC layer block switches between the non-MIMO mode and the MIMO mode. An apparatus for operating an access node is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9131029
Abstract: Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology in conjunction with the IEEE 802.11 standard enables simultaneous communication of data packets to or from multiple users in the same frequency. Spatial divisional multiple access (SDMA) is thus provided. In this way, system capacity can be increased to an extent that depends on available antenna resources and the multipath characteristics of the communication channel. Doubling or quadrupling of network throughput can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 9106348
Abstract: In an example embodiment, there is disclosed a technique that enables a wireless device to achieve coexistence with an interfering source. The wireless device determines when interference is present and not present during a service period and reports the duration of interference free interval. At the end of an interference period, the wireless device can send a trigger signal indicating the start of an interference free interval to request data be sent to the wireless station until the expiration of the duration of the interference free interval. In particular embodiments, the signal sent by the wireless device can include an offset, for example a timing synchronization function (TSF) value, to indicate the end of the interference-free interval, perhaps computed so as allow for some clock drift.

  • Patent number: 8892907
Abstract: Example embodiments provide various techniques for storing and recovering a cryptographic key identifier that may be used to recover encrypted data. The cryptographic key identifier may be stored with the encrypted data itself. In an example, the cryptographic key identifier may be stored in particular blocks on a logical disk that are specifically designated to store the cryptographic key identifier. To store the cryptographic key identifiers in the designated blocks, the data within the blocks is compressed to fit the cryptographic key identifiers within the blocks. This cryptographic key identifier can be recovered at a later time by locating the designated blocks and retrieving the cryptographic key identifier from the blocks.
