  • Patent number: 11944703
Abstract: An ocular medical injector is provided for drug delivery. A method includes inserting a puncture member of the medical injector into the eye until the puncture member reaches the suprachoroidal space (SCS). The puncture member defines a lumen therethrough. With the puncture member disposed within the SCS, a flexible cannula is advanced distally through the lumen of the puncture member, beyond the distal end portion of the puncture member and along the SCS towards a posterior region of the eye. The flexible cannula has an atraumatic distal tip and defines a lumen therethrough. With the distal tip of the flexible cannula disposed within the SCS beyond a distal end portion of the puncture member, a therapeutic substance is administered to the SCS.

  • Patent number: 11946160
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for coating a surface of a material with a film of porous coordination polymer. A first substrate having a first surface to be coated is positioned in a processing chamber such that the first surface is placed in a substantially opposing relationship to a second surface. In some embodiments, the second surface is provided by a wall of the processing chamber, and in other embodiments the second surface is provided by a second substrate to be coated. The first substrate is held such that a gap exists between the first and second surfaces, and the gap is filled with at least one reaction mixture comprising reagents sufficient to form the crystalline film on at least the first surface. A thin gap (e.g., having a thickness less than 2 mm) between the first and second surfaces is effective for producing a high quality film having a thickness less than 100 ?m.

  • Patent number: 10086380
Abstract: A shredder system and methods for shredding recyclable material including a primary shredder that shreds recyclable material into a first larger shred size and a secondary shredder that shreds recyclable material into a second smaller shred size material. The secondary shredder includes a rotor and a knife that meshes with the rotor to cause all of the first larger shred size material to be further shredded to the second smaller shred size material. The secondary shredder may also include a diverter mechanism capable of diverting the first larger shred size material. Either the diverter mechanism or the knife can move relative to the rotor to create an opening that allows the first larger shred size material to avoid being further shredded into the second smaller shred size material. The shredder system may be disposed in a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7857107
Abstract: A power management architecture as disclosed herein is suitable for use in connection with an electric brake system of an aircraft. During ground towing operations when the aircraft engines are off, the power management architecture provides operating power to the electric brake system (and other aircraft systems that are required to support towing operations) via the main aircraft battery. This towing power mode prevents the battery from powering other aircraft systems during towing operations, thus reducing the load on the battery.

  • Publication number: 20060219831
Abstract: An auger is mounted in a trough beneath a shredder. The auger has a double flight that progressively reduces in pitch and outside diameter from a drive end to a free end. A free end of the trough has a tube concentrically aligned with a shaft of the auger. The auger forces shredded material through the tube to compact the material into logs. An auger and shredder in combination is described as well as a method of removing and compacting shredded material using an auger.

  • Publication number: 20060219826
Abstract: This invention relates to a shredder and method of reducing shred size of shredded material by arranging knives on each shaft so that each set of knives has a high number of unique hook positions around a circumference of the set and controlling the locations and numbers of hooks to maintain a low torque load. The knives at the ends of each set have a larger diameter than the remaining knives. Shred sizes can be reduced to approximately half the size of previous shredders with no increase in torque load. A bulkhead wall and spacer assembly is adjustable with recessed portions to block off substantially all of a void that would otherwise exist at the end of each shredder body. A fingerplate assembly is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6588691
Abstract: A mobile shredding system is used mounted on a vehicle. The system has a hopper, for receiving material to be shredded, a shredder communicating with the hopper, and a holding space for shredded waste into which the shredder feeds shredded material. A bin lifting mechanism with at least one chain onto which a carriage is attached is mounted on a side of the vehicle. The carriage has an engagement mechanism for attaching a bin and the chain is movable by means of a drive mechanism from a lowered position, in which the carriage is adjacent the ground on which the vehicle is standing, and a raised position, in which the carriage is adjacent an inlet of the hopper and the contents of the bin are emptied into the hopper via the inlet. The carriage has a weight measuring mechanism such as a load cell incorporated therein to measure the weight of the bin when the bin is attached to the engagement mechanism. The system further has a weight indicating display, and also a electronic storage of the measured bin weight.
