Publication number: 20180270815Abstract: Coexistence gaps may permit one radio access technology (RAT) to coexists with another RAT by providing period in which one RAT may be silent and another may transmit. Methods may account for the RAT traffic and for the presence of other secondary users in a channel. Methods may be provided to dynamically change the parameters of a coexistence gap pattern, such as the duty cycle, to adapt to both the RAT traffic and the presence of other secondary users. Methods may include PHY methods, such as synchronization signal (PSS/SSS) based, MIB based, and PDCCH based, MAC CE based methods, and RRC Methods. Measurements may be provided to detect the presence of secondary users, and may include reporting of interference measured during ON and OFF durations, and detection of secondary users based on interference and RSRP/RSRQ measurements.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2018Publication date: September 20, 2018Applicant: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Erdem Bala, Mihaela C. Patent number: 10003933Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for synchronizing mobile station (i.e., wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) media flows during a collaboration session. Inter-WTRU transfer request messages, flow addition request messages and session update request messages may be exchanged between a plurality of WTRUs and a session continuity control application server (SCC-AS). Each of the messages may include a session description protocol (SDP) attribute line containing time synchronization information (e.g., a presentation time offset (PTO) information element (IE), a media flow group identity (ID) and a synchronization tolerance IE). The SCC-AS may update the time synchronization information and include the updated information in messages it sends to the WTRUs, which may re-synchronize their respective media flows based on the updated time synchronization information.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2017Date of Patent: June 19, 2018Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Xavier De Foy, Milan Patel, Kamel M. Publication number: 20170295132Abstract: Mechanisms may be used for edge caching Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) content via an owner-endorsed proxy. The edge servers of a mobile-content distribution network (CDN) may work as the proxy that dynamically gets the means to serve HTTPS content through rights delegated by content owners. Mechanisms may include dynamically assigning a domain with a Canonical name (CNAME) record in DNS based on the popularity of the domain at an edge server. Each edge server from the plurality of edge servers may be associated with a mobile content distribution (mobile-CDN) network, via the mobile-CDN, the right to establish a transport layer security (TLS) session is delegated to the edge server on behalf of the content owner, so that the HTTPS request to the content server may be served by the edge server. A mechanism to restrict the scope of HTTPS content served through the delegated right is presented as well.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2015Publication date: October 12, 2017Applicant: INTERDIGITAL PATENT HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Jun Li, Debashish Purkayastha

Publication number: 20170289593Abstract: Methods and systems may be used by a mobile-content distribution network (CDN) service to track individual user requests based on a correlation of a network level identifier to an application level identifier. The users may also be tracked using a mapping of the network level and application level identifiers to an internal identity. Further, the mobile-CDN service may build a cell profile using content requests from a set of active users across similar locations. Also, the mobile-CDN service may build a cell profile using content requests from user groups that have at least one member as an active user of the cell. Using a cell profile, the mobile-CDN may generate a prefetching content list for managed caching in the cell by localizing the content popularities and viewing patterns. The methods and systems may be applied in a small cell network (SCN).Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2015Publication date: October 5, 2017Applicant: INTERDIGITAL PATENT HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Jun Li, Debashish Purkayastha

Publication number: 20170277805Abstract: Embodiments include methods, systems, and apparatuses for content delivery using shared caching, and more specifically, a browser cache extension (BCE) between a local browser cache and a remote cache located on an edge server. In an embodiment, a remote BCE function on the edge server may create a shared cache folder containing a remote cache and an remote cache index file. A local BCE function in the local browser may be able to access the shared cache folder via a network file system (NFS) protocol. The local BCE function may merge the remote index file with a local index file from the local browser and retrieve the remote cache at the local browser.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2015Publication date: September 28, 2017Applicant: INTERDIGITAL PATENT HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Jun Li, Debashish Purkayastha, Alexander Reznik

Patent number: 9560088Abstract: Techniques for inter-user equipment (UE) transfer (IUT) are disclosed. An application server may receive an IUT request for transfer of a media session toward at least one initial UE such that the media session is to be played by at least two target UEs. The server may determine eligibility for IUT with group synchronization based on the request. The server may send a message to the initial UE that IUT with group synchronization is not allowed on a condition that IUT with group synchronization is not allowed. Further, the server may trigger inter-destination media synchronization (IDMS) for group synchronization of media sessions among the UEs on a condition that IUT with group synchronization is allowed. The media sessions may include a first media session and second media session. The media stream may be played by at least two UEs that are geographically separated after the transfer.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2015Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Hang Liu, Kamel M.
