  • Publication number: 20050047605
Abstract: An audio power display provides a signal and an update rate. An audio power monitoring system comprises a digital display unit including at least one light-emitting display element and a rapid update rate. The digital display unit displays signal levels at the rapid update rate to emphasize the dynamic nature of music. In one embodiment, the display update rate is varied to increase proportionally to increases in signal level, and decrease proportionally to decreases in signal level to further represent the dynamic nature of music.

  • Publication number: 20040057179
Abstract: An analog or digital circuit that senses both low and high input voltage and operates to disconnect both line and neutral electrical power connections to a protected device when abnormally low or high voltages are received from a single- or multi-phase power source, and reconnects the protected device when input power has stabilized. The sensing circuit and power supply is functional with voltages up to at least 240 Vac. The nominal 120 Vac circuit is designed to withstand a 6 kilovolt surge without damage. The apparatus does not disconnect the ground line during an out-of-tolerance voltage condition.

  • Publication number: 20030043519
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preventing the overheating and destruction of MOVs in an over-voltage protection circuit by providing an efficient circuit configuration, using a minimal number of components mounted in an efficient manner, to assure a rapid disconnect of the electrical power when designated MOVs begin to overheat. MOVs are incorporated in a way that provides capacity for dissipating very large transient over-voltage surges without increasing the number of thermal fuses needed for protection from overheating of the MOVs. A minimal number of thermal fuses are incorporated in such a way that a disconnection from the electrical supply is assured where necessary while the risk of acrid smoke and fire from overheated components is minimized. Thermal fuses having a relatively low opening temperature are installed using a method that avoids placing thermal stress on the fuses.

  • Patent number: 6227914
Abstract: A solid brass battery connector block assembly for providing power distribution from a power source, such as a vehicle battery, to attached wire conductors. The assembly includes a conductive base unit 100 which connects to a battery via a battery clamp portion 400. The battery clamp portion 402 is mounted in an opening 112 in the base unit 100 that extends from the top surface to the bottom surface thereof. The base unit 100 is essentially fan shaped and is molded with extended portions emanating from the vertex of the fan shape. At the ends of the extended portions are molded or machined holes 106, 108, 110 extending into the body of the base unit 100. Master rings 202, 204, 206 and collet assemblies 208, 220, 230, or 240 are screw mounted in the holes 106, 108, 110 in the extended portions, the collets 208, 220, 230, or 240 having varying central bore holes to accommodate various gauge size wire conductors.

  • Patent number: 6111202
Abstract: Insulated wire or cable, the configuration of which is particularly well suited to the orderly coiling of the cable. The cable's insulation is formed in such a manner as to provide interlocking mating surfaces, which surfaces tend to hold the cable in its coiled configuration once so formed. According to one embodiment, the cable is splittable into its component insulated wires for mechanical or electrical connection thereto. This splitting may be by a slit or notch partially transecting a cross section of the insulated cable. Pulling the plurality of insulated wires in opposite directions tends to separate the cable into its component insulated wire portions. The stackable cable may be implemented utilizing cables; coaxial cables; solid wires; multiple strand wires, whether straight or twisted; and non-metallic electrical conductors.
