  • Publication number: 20230118111
Abstract: A method for seismic processing includes receiving measured seismic data collected by recording seismic waves that propagate through a subterranean domain, simulating synthetic seismic data using a model of the subterranean domain, generating a first time-space panel including the measured seismic data and a second time-space panel including the synthetic seismic data, applying a first moving window to the first time-space panel and a second moving window to the second time-space panel, determining a misfit by comparing the measured seismic data in the first moving window with the synthetic seismic data in the second moving window, and adjusting the model based on the misfit.

  • Patent number: 10871584
Abstract: Disclosed herein are implementations of various technologies for a method for seismic data processing. The method may receive seismic data for a region of interest. The seismic data may be acquired in a seismic survey. The method may determine an exclusion criterion. The exclusion criterion may provide rules for selecting shot points in the acquired seismic data. The method may determine sparse seismic data using statistical sampling based on the exclusion criterion and the acquired seismic data. The method may determine simulated seismic data based on the earth model and shot points corresponding to the sparse seismic data. The method may determine an objective function that represents a mismatch between the sparse seismic data and the simulated seismic data. The method may update the earth model using the objective function.

  • Patent number: 10401516
Abstract: Computing systems, computer-readable media, and methods for seismic processing. The method includes receiving seismic data including acquired seismic waveforms that were acquired from a seismic receiver and represent a subterranean area, generating synthetic waveforms based on an initial model of the subterranean area, determining a model error by minimizing a local travel time shift error between one or more of the acquired seismic waveforms and one or more of the synthetic waveforms, and adjusting the initial model based on the model error to generate an adjusted model.

  • Patent number: 10281602
Abstract: A system and method for acquiring seismic streamer data is provided. Embodiments may include performing a marine seismic survey using an unmanned marine vessel having a power source configured to drive and provide propulsion to the unmanned marine vessel. Embodiments may further include acquiring one or more of long and ultra-long seismic survey data using a multi-dimensional seismic sensor array coupled with the unmanned marine vessel and providing the seismic survey data as a reduced data set that includes long and ultra long offsets.
