  • Patent number: 6759105
Abstract: Wood surfaces treated to be inkjet receptive media are disclosed, where the wood surface is treated in a manner that can control the spread of an ink droplet reaching the wood surface to provide a superior image graphic. The treatment uses an image fixing agent comprising an aqueous solution of containing an organo-metallic complex of a hydrophobic fatty acid coordinated with a halogenated trivalent chromium. Veneers, plywoods, and particle boards having faces of lesser value woods can be digitally imaged to give the appearance of higher value woods or other customized inkjet images. Environmental and economic considerations benefit from the use of commonly available wood surfaces to simulate exotic and threatened wood species.

  • Patent number: 6153038
Abstract: An application for an improved method of transferring an ink image from one medium to a second medium at ambient temperature is disclosed. A digitized image is selected to be printed on a ink type printer on a computer device. Prior to printing, the image can be manipulated in various way on the computer device. The image is printed onto a non-absorbent medium utilizing the ink type printer. The image is then transferred from the non-absorbent medium to the object on which it is desired to have the image. No excess heat is required for the transfer process. Pressure is applied to the back side of the non-absorbent medium to assist in the image transfer. Prior to transferring the ink image, the surface of the object can be prepared by marring or application of a suitable substrate.

  • Patent number: 4897922
Abstract: A folding knife apparatus has an elongated handle with a slot formed therein. A knife blade has a working edge and an edge opposite to the working edge also has an abutment portion on one end of the opposite edge. The blade has a storage position wherein the working edge is disposed in the slot and a working position thereof approximately 180 degrees from the storage position thereof wherein the working edge extends out of the slot. The knife blade is pivotally attached to the handle along a first axis for permitting movement of the blade between the storage and working positions thereof. A lock member is rotatably attached to the handle along a second axis and has a locked position and an unlocked position. The lock member is in engagement with the abutment portion of the opposite edge of the blade when the blade is in the working position and the lock member is in the locked position thereof. The lock member is spaced from the blade abutment portion when the lock member is in the unlocked position thereof.

  • Patent number: 4703560
Abstract: A locking knife apparatus that includes a handle unit, a blade member support unit, a blade member, and a blade pivot hole and lock unit. The blade member includes a pivot slot disposed therethrough for operable interaction with the blade pivot hole and lock unit. Both the blade member and the blade member support unit include tabs and notches that may interact with one another to assist in locking the blade member in an open position.

  • Patent number: 4227303
Abstract: A folding knife having a handle with a slot formed therein has an arm member, one end of which is pivotally attached to the handle and pivotable between a first position disposed within the slot to a second position substantially outside of the slot. A knife blade has one end thereof pivotally attached to the other end of the arm member and is moveable when the arm member is in the second position thereof between a first position adjacent to the arm member and a second position wherein the knife blade extends away from the arm member for allowing the knife blade to be selectively folded into the handle for storage or out from the handle for use.
