Patent number: 8332033Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for use by implantable medical devices equipped to deliver multi-site left ventricular (MSLV) pacing. Sequential MSLV is associated with a relatively long post-ventricular atrial blanking (PVAB) period that might limit the detection of pathologic rapid organized atrial tachycardias (OAT). In one example, sequential MSLV cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) pacing is delivered within a tracking mode. A possible atrial tachycardia is detected based on the atrial rate exceeding an atrial tachycardia assessment rate (ATAR) threshold. The device then switches to either single-site LV pacing or simultaneous MSLV pacing, thereby effectively shortening the PVAB to detect additional atrial events that might otherwise be obscured, and thereby permitting the device to more reliably distinguish OATs (such as atrial flutter) from sinus tachycardia.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2011Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: Pacesetter, Inc.Inventors: Derrick W. Reed, Rohan A. More, Heidi Hellman, Eliot L. Ostrow, Paul A. Levine

Publication number: 20110054222Abstract: Glycol ethers are made by a process in which an alcohol, an alkylene oxide and a catalytic amount of an aromatic, heterocyclic amine catalyst are contacted under reactive conditions. Representative catalysis include substituted and unsubstituted pyridines and imidazoles. The process uses known oxides and alcohols, and produces more mono- and di- adduct products than does a corresponding process using a caustic catalyst. Moreover, the process can be conducted at a lower reaction temperature than a corresponding process using a caustic catalyst without sacrificing oxide conversion rates yet producing fewer carfoonyl impurities.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2009Publication date: March 3, 2011Applicant: Dow Global Technologies Inc.Inventors: Scott P. Christensen, Derrick W. Flick

Patent number: 7655093Abstract: A wafer support system comprising a susceptor having top and bottom sections and gas flow passages therethrough. One or more spacers projecting from a recess formed in the top section of the susceptor support a wafer in spaced relationship with respect to the recess. A sweep gas is introduced to the bottom section of the susceptor and travels through the gas flow passages to exit in at least one circular array of outlets in the recess and underneath the spaced wafer. The sweep gas travels radially outward between the susceptor and wafer to prevent back-side contamination of the wafer. The gas is delivered through a hollow drive shaft and into a multi-armed susceptor support underneath the susceptor. The support arms conduct the sweep gas from the drive shaft to the gas passages in the susceptor. The gas passages are arranged to heat the sweep gas prior to delivery underneath the wafer.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2007Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: ASM America, Inc.Inventors: Michael W.
