  • Patent number: 4423757
Abstract: A device is disclosed for forming closable spring snaps from wire. The device is in the form of a hand tool and includes an elongated solid body having a plurality of pins fixed to and protruding outwardly from the body, in conjunction with a bore through the body and a groove cut into the side of the body. The pins, bore and groove are used in various combinations to form an eyelet at one end of a length of wire, to form an open latch loop at an opposite end of the length of wire, and to bend the length of wire intermediate the ends thereof with the wire bent back toward itself whereby the open latch loop is engageable with the one end of the wire inwardly of the eyelet to form a closable spring snap.

  • Patent number: 4421145
Abstract: Two embodiments of devices are disclosed for forming eyelets and/or twists in wire. Both embodiments are self-contained tools and include relatively rotatable outer sleeves and inner cores for completely encapsulating and holding lengths of wire. In one embodiment, the wire can be formed with a closed loop and tight wraps about the length of wire inwardly of the closed loop while the length of wire is held by the device and the closed loop is rotated relative thereto. In the other embodiment, the wire can be formed with a closed loop, followed by helical twists, and then tightly wrapped inwardly of the helical twists as the closed loop is continuously rotated relative to the device while the length of wire is encapsulated and held thereby.

  • Patent number: 4412565
Abstract: A hand tool is disclosed for straightening wire and includes three elongated rod-like wire straightening members each having a plurality of wire engaging circular ridges spaced longitudinally of the respective straightener member. Link means interconnects the wire straightener members at the ends thereof for pivotal movement relative to the longitudinal axes thereof, between an open position and a closed position. The wire straightener members in the closed position define a longitudinal passageway between the circular wire engaging ridges for receiving a wire and straightening the wire in response to relative longitudinal movement of the wire in the passageway as pressure is applied exteriorly of the wire straightener members. The circular ridges on each wire straightener member are spaced and located to be disposed in gaps between the circular ridges of each other wire straightener member.

  • Patent number: 4363604
Abstract: A spinner is disclosed for use with a model airplane, or the like, which has a propeller on a propeller shaft, the propeller being disposed between a thrust plate fixed to the propeller shaft and retaining means such as a propeller nut threaded onto the propeller shaft. A base plate has an axial passage for receiving the propeller shaft and the propeller nut holds the base plate between the thrust plate and the propeller for conjoint rotation therewith. An air piercing nose cone is releasably mounted to the base plate and has radial openings for receiving the shanks of the propeller blades. A locking ring is rotatably mounted on the base plate for rotation relative thereto about the axis of the propeller shaft between a locking position and a release position. The nose cone has at least one interior stud having a radial notch for engagement by a locking edge of the locking ring when in said locking position to releasably hold the nose cone on the base plate for conjoint rotation therewith.

  • Patent number: 4013336
Abstract: A connector clip for releasably attaching a source of electrical current to a miniature internal combustion engine is disclosed wherein the two contacting surfaces of the connector clip are held firmly to the engine itself by a force which causes one contact to move substantially parallel to the other. The contacting surface of the connector clip which engages the tip of the glow plug of the engine is provided with a recess to receive the glow plug tip. In this manner, both electrical reliability and safety operation are improved.
