  • Patent number: 5378018
Abstract: The invention related to a process for quickly inflating a gas cushion in a safety system of the air bag type in which at least two pressurized filling gases are stored being shielded from each other. Instead of the filling gases, initially only the starting material(s) of one or both filling gases can be stored. In case of need, for instance upon a crash-characteristic signal, the filling gases are released from their reservoirs; if necessary, the starting material(s) of one or more filling gases is/are first ignited due to the crash-characteristic signal and then produce(s) the filling gas. The released filling gases are then concentrated and finally inflate the gas cushion or air bag.

  • Patent number: 4366638
Abstract: The present invention relates to a box magazine for firearms, having a longitudinal housing (1), one end thereof being provided with an ejection opening for the frontmost cartridge contained in the magazine; it includes a follower, spring loaded in the direction of this ejection opening and being in a contacting relationship with the last cartridge, and with the follower spring, designed as a scroll spring (13), whose one end is attached to the housing in the vicinity of the ejection opening and whose scroll spring shaft (11, 12) is mounted on the follower (4) and whose axis is arranged at right angles to the direction of motion of the follower.

  • Patent number: 4348941
Abstract: A shoulder arm, especially a rifle, having a barrel, a recess, which is perpendicular to the axis of the barrel, formed in a member which is fixedly connected with the barrel, and a roller-shaped breech member coaxially arranged in the recess and capable of being swivelled about its longitudinal axis for loading. The breech member contains a firing chamber which, in the firing position of the breech member, is in alignment with the barrel and is closed to the rear. The shoulder arm also has an arrangement for swivelling the breech member out of the firing position and into a loading position, in which the firing chamber is accessible for the introduction of a cartridge. The recess is designed in the form of a cylindrical hole, whose wall serves to mount the roller-shaped breech member and to directly close the firing chamber when it is located in the firing position.

  • Patent number: 4152857
Abstract: The invention relates to a loading arrangement for handfire-arms, in particular automatic rifles for firing caseless ammunition, comprising a magazine and a cartridge clip adapted to it. The cartridge clip retains the cartridges by two resilient tongues and is constructed as an insert for a container. Several containers are detachable interconnected. The magazine comprises channels for the tongues and is provided with a one-way barrier at the front face, which is open over at least approximately the full cross-section. The one-way barrier allows the insertion of a cartridge clip having a plurality of cartridges into the magazine, tensioned against the follower spring. The one-way barrier further permits the removal of the clip while retaining the cartridges in the magazine. The cartridges are removed from the magazine perpendicular to the direction of insertion. The one-way barrier is constructed as a U-shaped stop spring.

  • Patent number: 4078327
Abstract: A weapon includes a receiver which defines a dust-tight and water-tight space accommodating a barrel and a bolt assembly slidably carried by the barrel at the breech thereof. An ignition device is arranged within the space defined by the receiver for igniting, at predetermined times, combustible gases accumulating in that space.

  • Patent number: 3997994
Abstract: A shoulder arm, such as a rifle, having a breech member which can be swivelled about an axis which is perpendicular to the axis of the barrel for loading the breech member contains a firing chamber which is in alignment with the barrel in is firing position and which is closed to the rear. The shoulder arm has an arrangement for swivelling the breech member out of the firing position and into a loading position, in which said firing chamber is accessible for the introduction of a cartridge. The breech member is designed as a roller which can be swivelled about its longitudinal axis and which is arranged in a cylindrical hole in a member which is fixedly attached to the barrel and whose wall directly closes the firing chamber when it is located in the firing position. The wall is retained in its respective position by means of the arrangement for swivelling the breech member.
