  • Publication number: 20040187638
Abstract: The invention proposes a fine grained sintered cemented carbide containing chromium and based on WC and a binder based on Co or CoNiFe, and having at least one additional phase comprising at least one carbide or mixed carbide of tantalum. For improving the high-temperature properties while simultaneously maintaining a good trade-off between hardness and bending strength, it is proposed that the sintered cemented carbide contains approximately 0.3 to 4% Ta, as related to the total mass of the sintered cemented carbide, that the WC has a grain size of between 0.1 and 1.3 &mgr;m, that the binder phase contains the metals W, Cr and Ta, dissolved in solid solution, and that the at least one additional phase comprises a TaC phase visible by optical microscopy. The invention further relates to a powder-metallurgical process for manufacturing the sintered cemented carbide and to the use of the sintered cemented carbide for manufacturing cutting tools having improved high-temperature properties.

  • Publication number: 20040151482
Abstract: An incubator hood for an incubator for premature and newborn babies as well as to a process for regulating the temperature of an incubator hood are provided. The problem frequently occurring in incubator hoods is that the incubator hoods lead to heat losses at the premature and newborn babies and that water of condensation precipitates on the inside of the incubator in such incubator hoods, and this water of condensation obstructs the view and facilitates the growth of microorganisms in the incubator. This can be counteracted by a heated incubator hood. The comparatively complicated regulation processes, which requires the installation of temperature sensors in the incubator hood is avoided by the use of interior heating wires (1) in which temperature-dependent electric resistors (3), preferably PTC resistors with a nominal response temperature of about 37° C., are arranged.

  • Patent number: 6633826
Abstract: The circuit arrangement serves to identify an input signal (s1) assigned to a predetermined signal class. It comprises signal-matching electronics (1) responsive to a current component and/or a voltage component of the input signal (s1) and providing a corresponding output signal (s2). By means of signal recognition electronics (2) of the circuit arrangement, the output signal (s2) is transformed into a recognition signal (c1) representative of the signal class.

  • Patent number: 6619252
Abstract: What is proposed is a switchable tappet (1) for the direct transmission of a cam lift to a tappet push rod. The tappet (1) comprises a hydraulic clearance compensation element (31) and has an excellent hydraulic rigidity compared to the prior art. This is achieved by a leak gap positioned radially very far outwards. This leak gap is situated directly between a housing (2) and a pressure piston (4) which, in its turn, encloses an inner element (11) that acts on a tappet push rod.

  • Patent number: 6615783
Abstract: The invention proposes a switchable tappet (1) for the direct transmission of a cam lift to a tappet push rod. A coiled compression spring (15), used as a lost motion spring, for loading the inner element (4) is shifted axially out of a housing (2). For this purpose, the inner element (4) comprises an extension (15a) that projects out of the housing (2) and is surrounded by the coiled compression spring (15). This measure contributes to minimizing the total mass of the switchable tappet (1) because the overall length of the housing (2) is shortened.

  • Publication number: 20030156804
Abstract: The invention relates to a high frequency module with a hollow conductor structure, consisting of a housing bottom and a housing lid, preferably consisting of ceramic. The housing bottom and the housing lid are preferably co-ordinated with each other in terms their expansion characteristics. The adjusting device is mounted on the housing lid for positioning on the housing bottom, and consists of a raised photosensitive resist part which tapers conically starting from the housing lid. The adjusting device engages with the hollow conductor on assembly. The layer thickness of the adjusting device is approximately 100 to 200 um. The housing bottom and the housing lid are permanently interconnected by soldering, preferably using solders which are introduced galvanically in solder deposits. To this end, the solder is either applied locally to the housing lid surface or introduced in vias which are structured in the lid.

  • Patent number: 6582537
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for the production of cold-rolled bands or sheets from low-alloy steel with a maximum of 0.2% C, Al, Ti, V, Nb respectively and a maximum of 1% Si and Mn respectively, in addition to a portion of boron required for N binding (>0,78×N), the remainder being constituted by iron and unavoidable impurities, wherein said steel is cast after melting to slabs, thin slabs or a band, which are hot-rolled at a starting temperature above 1100° C. and at a final temperature below Ar3 and wherein the hot band is then drawn and cold-rolled at a temperature below 650° C., whereupon the cold band is annealed independently of the degree of cold-rolling at a low temperature that could possibly vary depending on the composition of the steel and ranging from 520 to 780° C. during a period of time that is sufficiently long to allow for complete recrystallization.

  • Publication number: 20030006989
Abstract: A display (AV) for on-site visualization of conditions of an automated process (PZ) is disclosed. It comprises a display controller (AS) which at least temporarily provides a state indication signal (ZA) representing a constellation of states of at least two process data signals (PD1, PD2). At least one of the two process data signals (PD1, PD2) is derived from a signal (RX) generated externally to the field device (F1). The field device (F1) has a display element (AE) which responds to a change in the state indication signal (ZA) with a significant change in its appearance, thus signaling the constellation of the states of the two process data signals (PD1, PD2) in a visually perceptible manner. Therefore, the field device (F1) is particularly suited for on-site monitoring of entire plants or sections thereof by operating personnel.

  • Patent number: 6460495
Abstract: In a switchable support element (1) for a valve train of an internal combustion engine, the lost motion spring (8) of the valve train is made as a torsion spring. This spring is arranged outside of the support element (1) and only the legs and the arms of the spring engage a housing and a head, respectively. In this way, the support element (1) requires no substantially larger design space than non-switchable prior art elements, particularly in axial direction.

  • Patent number: 6434477
Abstract: A method for requesting and for processing traffic information, in which a traffic-information query is transmitted by a mobile transceiver, and at least one traffic message is provided by a service provider via a base station, the traffic message being transmitted as a brief coded message. Information about the version of the stored data or data groups in the memory allocated to the mobile transceiver, and/or the manufacturer of the stored data or data groups and/or the issue date of the stored data or data groups is transmitted to the base station in the traffic-information query, so that in the return message of the traffic information, the base station can undertake the coding in such a way that the coded data can be well utilized on the basis of the stored data in the vehicle. In this manner, even given changing data, it is ensured in all events that the mobile transceiver is able to interpret the coded traffic messages.

  • Patent number: 6425358
Abstract: A switchable, hydraulic support element (1) requiring only a small design space is proposed. For achieving this, a bore (16) for a slide (23) is arranged laterally of a pressure piston (10) of a hydraulic clearance compensation element (11) in the inner element (7) and is configured as a pocket bore. This dispenses with the stacked arrangement of the bore in the inner element and the clearance compensation element on top of each other as seen in prior art. At the same time, the slide (23) is installed in a housing (19) that extends in the cylinder head (5).
