  • Publication number: 20050163063
Abstract: A method for operating a tire pressure measuring system uses a transceiver. When triggered, the transceiver transmits an energy signal to a transponder in a tire that then responds with a data signal. So that the energy signals do not interfere with other transceivers on receipt of the data signals, the method makes provision for the repetition rate with which the energy signals are triggered to be a function of the speed of the vehicle. Transmission is more frequent at higher speed than at lower speed.

  • Patent number: 6713922
Abstract: A permanent magnet design includes a magnetic field that is skewed relative to a center line of the magnet body. One surface of the magnet is adapted to be mounted or supported on a motor assembly component such as the rotor. • Patent number: 6206560
Abstract: An extruder of the Transfermix type comprises a barrel in which a screw rotates for transporting and mixing visco-elastic compounds. The extruder has an inlet, a compression section, a plasticizing section and an exit section. The plasticizing section is of the Transfermix type, in which a helical groove in the screw varies in cross section from full area to zero area, while the cross section of an oppositely handed helical groove in the barrel varies from zero to full area. A return section follows the plasticizing section, and the operative contact-surface of the return section is formed by a sleeve which forms a cylindrical gap between the sleeve and the screw, the sleeve being axially movable to close or open the gap to produce a continuously adjustable throttle.

  • Patent number: 5979321
Abstract: A cassette for a wedge-shaped ink well of a printing machine has a bottom and a rear wall and two side walls. A front of the cassette, opposite the rear wall, faces a duct roller of the printing machine when the cassette is inserted into the ink well and is open. A handle connected to the upper portions of the side walls is positioned such that the cassette tends to incline to prevent ink from flowing out of the front of the cassette when the cassette is handled outside of the printing machine. The bottom and the sides of the cassette are sealed against the ink well adjacent to the duct roller. A seating arrests movement of the cassette relative to the ink well when the cassette is inserted in the ink well thus ensuring that the duct roller uniformly inked between sides of the ink well.

  • Patent number: 5848570
Abstract: An inking apparatus for rotary printing machines includes a rotatably mounted, drivable ink roller and at least one ink container mounted such that it can be swivelled away from the roller, favoring cleaning and ink change. The swivelably mounted ink container permits the ink container to be emptied in an operator-friendly fashion avoiding ink residues to the greatest possible extent and also permits thorough cleaning of the ink container and the roller with good accessibility. The roller is mounted in a separate holder and the holder is mounted in the frame in such a way as to be swivelable separately from as well as together with the ink container.

  • Patent number: 5767843
Abstract: The invention relates to a manually controlled input device for a computer which comprises a ?graph! graphics card for controlling a monitor video screen ?by means of! via a video signal, as a simulation and ?in the form! of a mechanical small-size spraying device (air brush) whose operating parameters are composed of three space coordinates, the air pressure of the ink spraying jet and the ink quantity therein. Synchronization signals from the video card are used in conjunction with an optical coupling between the input device and the video screen, to determine the spacial coordinates of the input device relative to the video screen.

  • Patent number: 5759323
Abstract: In a process that is particularly suitable for producing pipes or hoses, the reinforcing material and the matrix material are no longer produced separately but together in a woven, knitted, braided or non-woven fabric. The matrix material is selected so that its melting temperature is lower than the melting or decomposition temperature of the reinforcing material. The end product is obtained by pultruding the fabricated material, generally designated as textile fabrics, at a temperature above the melting temperature of the matrix material and below the melting or decomposition temperature of the reinforcing material. The product is then cooled to stabilise its final shape.

  • Patent number: 5551342
Abstract: A method for controlling the ink guidance of a printing machine, especially a sheet-fed offset printing machine. Ink-density spectra are recorded by means of a spectral photometer at a plurality of image points of the original and of the printed copy and the differential ink-density spectra are determined from these values. These differential ink-density spectra are then represented as a linear combination of the individual ink-density spectra of the inks participating in the composite printing. Regulating commands for the ink-guide members of the printing machine are thereupon derived from the proportionality factors of this linear combination.
