  • Patent number: 7748512
Abstract: A container lock with a housing and, positioned in it, a bolt that can be displaced by actuating a handle, with an insertion shaft for inserting a coin, with a scanning device for scanning the diameter of the coin inserted into the insertion shaft as far as a scanning position, where the scanning device interacts with a blocking device in such a way that the bolt can be displaced only with a coin having a correct diameter. It is proposed that the scanning device should configure a fixing jaw, which securely grips the coin that is inserted in the insertion shaft so that it is partly accessible from outside in the scanning position with the bolt pre-locked to prevent its withdrawal.

Date of Patent: July 6, 2010

  • Patent number: 6260392
Abstract: A lock, especially for a lock installation, having a housing (3) mounted inside a door (2) of a clothing locker or the like, the housing (3) being for a locking bolt (7) which is moveable by a rotary handle (14) projecting outwardly through the door (2), and, the occurrence, after activation of an electronic verification apparatus (21) and subsequent queries regarding the locking entitlement of a transponder (19), of electrical guidance applying to a locking-assist element (26) to release the locking actuation, whereby for activation in the rotary handle (14) which supports an antenna (18) for querying the transponder, there is provided a switch (20) which is sensitive to rotation and/or pressure.

  • Patent number: 4817404
Abstract: A lock of the type having a locking function released by a coin drop is disclosed. The lock includes a lock box housing which carries a locking cylinder and a shiftable operating element. A separate support casing is mounted on a door and carries a reversible latch element having two heads and an open box-like frame. The frame is provided with two openings for receiving the operating element. A separate spring-loaded slide is provided for urging the latching element in a forward locking direction.

  • Patent number: 4572348
Abstract: A lock provides a locking function after the insertion of a coin into it. The lock includes a punch card scanner which serves to enable the lock to provide the locking function. The lock includes a moveable bolt which is responsive to the scanner and a detent-like blocking catch. Movement of the bolt toward a locked position urges an inserted coin to lift the blocking catch, thereby freeing the bolt for further movement.

  • Patent number: 4433772
Abstract: A lock with a locking function adapted to be actuated after the insertion of a coin, in which the coin drops into a supported position in the bolt which is displaceable by key actuation, the edge of the coin releasing the bolt for the locking displacement by disengaging a pawl. The supported position is established by a resting point on the bolt side and a second resting point, the distance between the two resting points being variable as a function of the closing movement. One of the resting points is formed by the free, eccentrically shaped end of a rotary projection which is seated in a bolt-side lever which upon locking movement passes against spring action into a position which is at a greater distance from the bolt resting point. The rotary projection forms an attack surface, facing the rear wall of the lock, for a conversion tool.
