Abstract: A constant resistance exercising apparatus and system comprising a series of resistance units, each comprising a storage drum, output drum, and a constant torque spring wound about each drum. Each resistance unit may be selectively actuated through a lever and clutch assembly that simply slides a gear arrangement in and out of contact with a respective output drum. Accordingly, through the effortless toggling of a lever, a user may select or deselect multiple resistance units to provide a desired quantitative and measurable level of constant resistive force. Exercise tools, including handgrips, leg cuffs, bars, and/or harnesses, may be connected to a cable extending from the resistance units, and thus, function as the interface between the exercising apparatus and the user.

Abstract: A portable vacuum cleaning apparatus intended to be carried either on a single shoulder or worn backpack style, wherein the vacuum cleaner has an extensible tube and nozzle arrangement that may be held substantially fully enclosed in the vacuum cleaner case, wherein the hose or wand may be collapsed when not in use to prevent entanglement, or may be incrementally extended and secured in a desired position for use. Additional advantages of the present invention include a suspension arrangement for flexibly suspending the internal components of the vacuum and for providing a moment to counteract the force and movement of the wand.

Abstract: Provided is a weighted cable resistance apparatus, primarily for rehabilitation and therapy, and equally effective for recreational exercising. A frame with a perpendicularly attached seat form a rigid structure. The structure is supported on leveling screws or lockable casters for transport to bed-confined patients. Dead weights within the frame and the rigid seat structure stabilize the apparatus against overturning during use of the apparatus. At each end of the frame is attached a horizontally pivotable assembly, called a ‘module’. Each module contains weights which are, in turn, connected to a cable and to pulleys controlling the cable path. Vertically pivotable arms are mounted on the front of the is modules. The cables are guided to the end of the arms and past the exit pulleys, whereupon exercise tools can be connected. The twin module design provides simultaneous exercising with any two limbs.
